your drawings are great -- really good descriptions of volume and form and they're clean to boot. the only crit i have is on your paintings. personally,i think they lack a bit of depth one thing to look into that you've probably heard of is atmospheric perspective. as things recede into the background, objects start to exponentially lose contrast and detail. you'll see a lot of that in animation.
in the painting of you (i'm assuming its you since the guy has a tablet and a pen) climbing the mountain, you've worked the same amount of detail into every element of the painting that there is no place for the eye to rest. I would reduce the amount of detail in the unimportant parts. cheers!
oh god i must say that i love your ideas XD escpecially your Deviant ID and demon tackle and zombie concepts are great too =D never seen zombies like this =D
and truly as dragonspit said, your linework is indeed impressive
i like escpecially your ideas ^^
Hey Shambok loving your work your caricatures have got so much "fun" if thats the right word to use in them and its already been said a few times but im gonna say it again your line work is awesome nice work keep rocking i will be back for sure
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all art and science.
Nice anatomy studies and gosh, you draw some good superheroes too! On the robot sketch, the composition looks good and looking forward to see where it goes. Just one piece of criticism, I'd check the ellipses in the foreshortened forearm, I think they should be rounder. Dragons look cute, I especially like the pose on the right but the arms and chest look very humanoid which in my opinion looks odd. Maybe looking at some lizard arms might help give the same creature look as in the rest of the body.
Great variety again in the updates, keep them coming!
Awesome sketchbook! Luv them zombies! You're also improving a lot, the studies are great. Keep it up!
Hi Shambok, very dynamic drawing style! And the 'all out of bait' death character on page 1 really cracks me up.
Try drawing directly in color some times, it might give interesting results.
Sick drawings man really like your style i have question how do you do your digital linework? would love to get an answer
Well anyways thanks for droping by me SB keep it up!!

Wow people … Thanx so much for the awesome response! I have been too busy to respond for the last few days … but now I’m back, so here I go.
@ nurraymjo - Glad you like … I have a long way to go so I’ll be sharing a heck of a lot more images and hoping to hear from everyone! Thanx!
@ numlaut - Thanx for the visit … I really want to improve in my paintings, so I really appreciate the crit! I haven’t done many paintings due to time constraints but I’m working hard to remedy that. Thanx a mill for the info (it means the world to me).
@ Kingfoowiz – Thank you once again mate! … Same to you. We all have to work hard … there is no other way to improve.
@ J-p Nihtinen – I’m really happy that you like my ideas … Re: the Zombie: They are zombies with a South African flavor so some of the ideas might not register. Hopefully the movie they are for gets done soon... that should shed some light on the matter. Thanx for the kind words!
@ miycko - Thank you, thank you, thank you … you yourself have a freaking awesome SB !!! Ill try not to disappoint with the updates.
@ latigid - Glad to hear you’ll be back … I’ll be posting as much work as possible! As for the ‘fun’ aspect to my work … it must be my enjoyment of doing all my sill sketches rubbing off on them
@ smuli - I really look forward to your visits to my SB! Thanx for the awesome advice … The dragon had been ‘fixed/adjusted’ coz you were absolutely right … a more classic looking dragon works much better … especially since it was done for a kids magazine. I have a feeling the Robot will change a heck of a lot still but I will adjust the arm … Thanx once again!
@ velderia - Thanx for the kind words velderia … glad you dig the zombie .. I had oodles of fun doing them! As for keeping it up … The pressure… I wish I had some artistic Viagra … hahaha!
@ tobbA - I’m sure I’ll be doing a few more zombies before the project is finished so I’ll be keeping you posted! The Gummie Bear ogres were that Bomb!
@ Leo Ki - That is an awesome idea. I have been planning to do some speed paintings very soon so I’ll be sure to give them just that treatment! I really like sketching with a dark colour but sometimes it really work against some of the effects I want to achieve in my paintings. Thanx for the advice!
@ LironGabriel - It was a pleasure visiting your SB. In regards to my digital line work, I’m assuming you are talking about the clean outline images. Basically all I use is the Scratchboard tool in Painter. At first it can be a bit unruly but after tweaking the setting a bit you manage to get a nice comic ink like line that’s really easy to use. More than that it takes a bit of practice to make the line look straight and confidant. Hope that helps.
Other work has been keeping me busy so I haven’t had much chance to sketch but I’m including some old pages from my physical sketchbook. As well as the finished image of the dragon image … It has changes a bit ... I hope for the better.
A nice broad selection of beasts and beauties here. I can't really offer you much advice, I'm in fact learning from looking at your sketches. =)
An idea perhaps could be to colour in some of these beautiful sketches if you want to practice your colouring maybe.
Keep working hard. =)
@ Kungfoowiz - ... I'll add some colour as soon as I have a spot of time thanx man!
@ Peetaer - ... Glad you like! ... Yep our very own zombie movie!
Here is another doodle ... unfortunately I haven't got much more to add at the moment ... just late night scribbles.
Hey there people ... long time no post, work has been keeping me busy.
Thanx Smuli ... glad you think the changes to the dragon were for the better.
Kungfoowiz, I love what I do ... hehehe
Im posting a 3.5 hour painting called Deadly Tease. ... I dont do much speed painting so Im plannig to do a few of these both for fun and practice.
Also posting some more kiddie drawings I finished lately.
As always I hope you enjoy ...
the first one with the zombie and the girl looks really nice ^^ I't gives a Beauty and the Beast kind of feel.
the kiddie drawings look cute ^^ The first girl with the bucket is kind of scary looking with that grin D: but that's just me XD lawl!
nice work! ^^
Hey, the painting is decent, although as mentioned on DA, I think it lacks some middle ground.
The vectors are really clean, your line width adds a lot of depth, it's good work.
Looking forward to seeing more of your speed painting. Keep working hard!
Thanx GweNdZ ... All kids are scary to me LOL.
Kungfoowiz - thanx, glad you think its decent. if I added a middle ground it would have been way to busy. As for the other image of the kids ... they are not vector, they are done free hand with the scratchboard tool in Painter. Thanx for the friend mention in your signature
Nice work man. Some good old child labour. Hehehe!!!

Those recycling people look amazing.

Hey people ... thanx again for the kind comments and for dropping by my SB!!!
Here is a speed painting I did for a DA challenge. The topic was 'conundrum' this one was done in Photoshop in about 57 minutes.
I need a lot of practice doing speed paintings so Ill be submitting as many as I can.
Hope you enjoy...
Hey, one thing I would mention for your next speed paint is that you don't necessarily have to define the detail of your creatures so much. Try to emphasise form and lighting I feel. But it's all up to you I suppose, just that detail work can take more time to do.
Where's the schtuff?
