Love love all your environment painting and concept art!! Really nice epic feeling. And that shoe 3D model is awesome!
The anatomy in your girly paintings however doesn't convince me - I'd recommend some study of muscles and bones for a while - even when copying references, it's easy to miss/not accenuate landmarks.
The shoe 3D model would look better as a paintover of a shoe 3D model, imho. As it is, it just looks too much like a 3D CGI model. (Anyone who says that argument doesn't make sense simply doesn't appreciate art the same way I do. Perhaps in another 10 or 20 years, as software improves, 3D CGI stuff will start to look more natural, and only then will my above argument cease to hold weight.)
The pin-ups are pretty good, but in some cases I think you could refine the way you do the eyelids and some of the lines. You have absolutely mastered the other stuff (fantasy and sci-fi environments) and the rest of us could learn a lot from studying your techniques in that area.
This is massive man! Congrats!
I love the brush work in the image of the person standing before the fire. By far my favorite.
Impressive work! I really enjoy the first two images and the church. Thank you for the inspiration
Very good artwork, I love matte paintings and women, so you are inspirning me a lot!
last pic is too real to be painted.. maybe it is or it photo manipulation or some 3d? look realistic xD
Beautiful work - really a delight to see all that you've done
awesome vision in your landscapes and nice tone and anatomy in your figures.. I like them a lot. Be looking out for you more =)
Really amazing stuff! Details, texture, lighting, everything is great! Im curious, how did you get all the detail into the cliffs in this image: http://www.andreasrocha.com/stuff/2D...ha_2009_44.jpg ? It's got so much complexity to it, but looks loose at the same time, and i'm always looking for tricks to draw rocks better. Thanks for posting!
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Hey whats up? I was with you in some of the MB crits a couple months ago. . w/jason manly, whit b, andrea, etc. I love the new work. Your enviros are awesome! I'm jellous. Keep up the good work.
Truly stunning work, you have inspired me to attempt landscapes again, (which are my favorite) you would make bill and ted proud because these are most excellent
Very good work, your environment concepts are some of the best i've seen in a long time. Keep working and hope to see more from you.
AlexTooth - thanks...yep, I still have a lot to learn regarding anatomy.
Dahami - the 3d model was for an advertising campaign and required a clean and crisp look; thanks
DrFx - Thanks, friend!
Titan - Thanks. I actually like the white background on the pinups, but that is just my opinion.
Lyle Moore - Thanks
MephistonX - Thanks...Not really proud but happy with where I am heading. There is still so much to learn...
Marmot - Thanks...credits go to Painter's Palette Knife
aiRaGe - Thanks. Those were concepts for Lifeblood Games
ccp85 - thanks, I also love those 2 subjects it's a shame they can't be combined.
nonameowns - Thanks. Last painting is more of a sloppy matte painting. A lot of photographic material and a lot of painting which is too apparent in some areas.
AhkNemet - Thanks.
PenDiablo - Thanks...still struggling.
ArtZealot - Thanks. There is a lot of photo material and a lot of painting mixed together. I was very much inspired by one of the matte paintings done for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where Indy has to do the Leap of Faith. The old style matte paintings were really wonderful.
steven6 - Hi Steven. I remember you of course. Thanks!
cbiscuit - Thanks...Glad I inspired someone. Who the hell are Bill and Ted?
HoneyMaris89 - Thanks...3d models?
Icedearth15876 - Thanks, but there is way much better environment work out there.
Wolfuy - Thanks for the kind words.
Wow, really amazing stuff. My favorite is the aerial view of the stepped pyramid complex with the irrigation.
I love the enviroment paintings. The lighting and color use is really pretty amazing. Good use of texture and perspective.
The anatomy of many of the bodies and faces is pretty off though. I realize that you are probably a Matte artist by nature but I would spend a bit more time brushing up on human anatomy. It is obvious you have the ability to do great art once you've gained a bit more anatomical knowledge.
Great stuff overall though man! Your Enviros are seriously inspiring.
Gorgeous environments! great mood and detail in all of them!
I really love your lighting and mood in your enviros, I also envy your loose painterly technique. Very productive year, I hope 2010 brings you even more success.
Amazing environment stuff you've got there, love the textures .
