Couple of sketches for my 36 x 48'' painting, super stoked about this assignment..gonna have a few more ideas up pretty soon!. its context revolves around "maps"
Quick gesture of my surreal marine steed for the post apocalyptic/steam punk aquatic metropolis.. this is going to be on that lovely 36 x 48'' canvas, stoked to flesh him out in oils
Jamessimmons - Thanks! Its what I live for and love with all my heart Very purpose fulfilling. I'm happiest when I create!
Quick sketch of the full body, scanner cut off upper half..grr!
skMOP - Thanks! More digital renditions on the way, been super busy with all the projects at school!! I'm actually rendering the monster in oils as we speak. I'm hoping he turns out somewhat decent.anyways...back to my lovely wacom intuos 4 its good to switch it up now and then between pencil + paper to digital.
Hope fully I get some MORE work up on here sooner than later!
JeremyG0rdon - Thanks! I appreciate your input! currently working on a 36 x 48'' painting and 3 or 4 others for my final project.. crunch time! I'll upload them up on here in the next couple weeks : )
Thanks everybody. Heres a little character I did for the writer of my schools magazine. I'm the layout artist, vis dev, and illustrator for it. Gonna have more "staff characters" up pretty soon. This was done in Photoshop CS5.
Couple more characters for the magazine as well as personal. A majority if not all of my work is done from raw imagination
Revenebo - Thanks! I appreciate your comment! definitely got more on the way as well as figures! ( figure drawing workshop tomorrow woot woot! ). Super stoked about it!
You have some really great stuff. Your sketches are really full of motion and I really like the concepts you have for your painting piece. Especially the chameleon. Would definitely love to see them whne they are done.
"This is a paint and pixel-splattered furnace that forges the swords of artistic mastery. This is a place where swarthy and belligerent dwarves drink turpentine mead, berate their apprentices and slap the trade into their skulls. It's where the anvils are made of graphite, the hammers are as true as rectangular marquee selections and the fires burn with the light of a thousand lensflares." --Jason Rainville
You're getting hang of human anatomy, though facial anatomy needs more time. Try other styles and techniques, because that great technique you use on your creature doesn't really work with human face.
Wooden Mango - Thanks! I appreciate your kind words. Unfortunately the chameleon didnt pass for my painting project in class but I'll eventually paint him on the side, most likely in digital medium. I'm doing the marine squidlike monster instead, this weeks my final crit so I'll have pics up this upcoming week!
Seraph Fawkes - Thanks! I'll give it a shot with a new technique/method and style for human faces!
This started out as a sketch for one of my more mischievous characters whose discovered the powers she truly possesses and runs away from the confines of her home and the undesirable circumstances within it.Eventually, she forms a pair of wings that allow her to go wherever her heart desires.
Now its become an illustration :3
Another quick sketch of runaway character. Did it in moleskine
Went to the beach today after school, a pelican came over and plopped a few feet away from me.. he was eyeing me as I was drawing him its almost as if he was posing for me, everytime I looked over he would look, at one point he finally stood up and looked over at me and stood there for about a couple minutes.. then he flew away and dove into the ocean for food :3. Pretty rewarding to get a pelican that close and his little mohawk was kickass! After he left I did a little salamander like character.
Knoxie - Thanks! I appreciate your kind words.. I really love where your work has gone as well! More on the way!
Practice.. little monster/character I made up off the top of my head real quick in the midst of finals! Really experimenting and playing around with what technique I like in photoshop! Excited to see what else is in store!. more on the way!

Another quick sketch of a new foxy character I made up off the top off the top of my head | Imagination. Wewt! stoked to develop this little inquisitive guy!
What fantastic and playful characters! I really enjoy looking at them. Did you ever finish the 36x48" painting? (I really liked the drawings for it)
Dreolin - Heya thanks! Yes all the paintings I did this quarter are done! I'm waiting for my camera to get back to me which will be by tuesday, most likely will upload them by then! Glad you enjoy my work!
