it kinda look like ur putting urself on a stopwatch..
If so,, and u are rushing.. slow the fudge down.. it wont help if you try to get stuff done in a minimum amount of time.
Take ur time to do the studies try to make them look good and try to make them look right.
Its the best way to learn.. see ur mistake and fix them.. dont see ur mistakes and say.. ill do it different next time.
Try to mirror ur drawings to, and try to fix the mistakes as u see em.
Anyway im off on my vacation..
See ya in a week or 2!
cool update there mate ;D i think ur pencil rendering just got a little better huh?
Looks really good especially liking the zoo sketches.. ill try to make it next time!
Would be fun!
And we still have our sketchdate sometime before ur school starts again XD
Ohwell! Keep rockin!
As always, impressive work speed + load, and I really dig your color schemes, like that train. However, I also have to agree with what RBeek said about too much speed; maybe for every 3-4 fast pieces, try to slow down and do a really detailed one. For example, on that train station environment, I'd love to see what details you can add if you spend twice the time.
I've watched your sketchbook from page 1 to this one, and the progress in head studies is really awesome to see. You've improved a lot!
Also I'm kind of jealous of your feeling for colours which you seem to have naturally? I don't know if you've practiced that some way, but I find myself struggling with colours all the time.
Keep it up
RBeek: Thanks for the comment man!
xinhai: thanks man, yeah you're right on the speed thingy, gotta take my time more. Thing is with the digital from the mind stuff that i lose interest so quickly in making an image
Marlisa: Thanks alot for the comment! About the color thing, just do a lot of still lifes, that really helps, most inportant thing is to draw from life (i think)
havnt updated in a long time, ive been drawing but not much, just gonna dump my sketchbook along some other crap
star wars image:
Ahhhh, so this is where you go to see Phade sp's now.
Diggin the pencils man, really nice work, some of those creatures and especially the female faces are great.
jigje: Thanks man, yeah i kinda stopped the daily thing
long time no update, first, here are some studies:
and here some unfinnished sketches that i dislike.. Gotta make a finnished thing soon
Also have a million of pecils lying around, ill see if i can upload them when im around a scanner
Massive update time,
view from the window from my parents house, dont like this one that much, the colors/lighting were constantly changing
These are some life drawing digitals ranging from 1/2 to 10 minutes, done at school, i wish they would alow some longer studies as well but 10 mins is the max, i have alot more, but these were the ones that sucked the least
dumping my sketchbook:
100 figures from the head, they all suck tremendously, but i think this is a good way to inprove, i really need to start drawing more figures from the head!
Fineliner stuff, first page mostly from reference, the rest from imagination. I think that drawing those simple objects helps me to understand form better. The rest really forces me to think about what im drawing before i put it on the paper
Figure studies from photo's (these havn't been helping me very much, am i doing something wrong?)
Kevin Chen (really helpfull studies from this one, the simplified stuff really helps me understand proportions better)
Random pencils from life:
Wow, some beast work you got here man! Very inspiring...I give you props on your self portraits! I'm only working on my second of all time haha, as I write this actually. Anyways keep it up man! And check out my portrait in my SB, I'd appreciate some advice before i get to far along. Thanks!
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
RBeek: Thanks alot man, i think right now drawing in pencil & pen is way more inportant then painting
Rhoades: Thanks for the comment, sure ill take a look!
Drawing during class:
Something more or less finnished:
a crappy zombie!
Parsakoira: Thanks dude!
Doing a conceptart workshop at school, we have to make a character from scratch, so far here is the result:
before that, we had to make a ton of thumbs, 30 thumbnails each for male & female version & enviroment, the human thmbs really helped to push me beyond the fear of drawing clothed human figures more often, they still suck tough, so more practice!
RBeek: w00t thanks for the comment dude! Been noticing inprovement in my paintings since ive been doing more line drawings i still not happy so MOAR STUDY'S
here's the env for the workshop:
looking good again!
the enviroment is rly cool
The studie looks nice to, colors are i think spot on.. the atmosphere is there alright.
That 'crappy sketches's first one is alright but anatomy wise its strange.. or pose wise..
There is something happening with his hip or it reads like that as if its broken or something..
Keep up these kind of digitals though theyre quite cool
Great variety of work here, best way forward. Keep it up!
Rogier: Thanks dude, aah yes your right on the anatomy, proportions/anatomy is still my weakest point i guess
The_Flying_Dutchman: Thanks! Glad you like it!
First 2 are for the DSG, 3th one is an sketchy env from the head, and lastly, some portraits from life from the awesome people at the workshop.
Lhune: Thanks for the comment!
Something esle im working on
