Always a pleasure looking in here
Hey everybody! Been a long time but now I'm back with stuff. Here's a pretty big dump of stuff I've been doing. Got some finished pieces and just some thoughts floating around.
Also got to lead a team of artists on an independent study project this past wintersession so some of that's in there too.

Wow, he's alive alright! Awesome update Farquad! I like the illustration with the kid with the slingshot. You get a real sense of an evil mischief coming from the kid.
i like your environment and creature work. Not really sure why but your characters are lacking. Not sure why.
Alex Zelenski: Thanks for dropping by and giving crit! Not sure what you mean about my character work. Could you be specific as to what aspect is lacking?
Now that you mentioned it, I do feel like there is a certain "dead" quality to most of them. The faces seem to embody that, as well as the artificial poses. To reference I say!
Nickybeats: Thanks dudemanbro! Back at ya!
Here's a couple pages from one of my sketcbooks (of which I now have like 7, all of different sizes).
First time seeing this sketchbook and I have to say that it's really amazing, everything's here awesome.

Good to see you're back. Your work is still quite amazing!
The other day a friend of mine was showing me some brilliant artwork he's found while browsing the internet and at one point I said 'hey, wait a minute, I know this style.' And indeed, it was one of your works. Quite an achievement for any artist to have a recognisable (and really cool!) style, especially at so early in their career. Well done and carry on posting please!
WOW you are killing it! I'm pretty floored with your latest work here...especially the first image at the top of this page.
On your latest one with the girl crouching in the trees though I felt that the first stage had a lot of potential for some softer more subtle treatment of things, then you went in and punched everything in very strongly and resolved everything. That's not to say it's a bad picture, but I would have been more interested I think if you continued more with how it looked at first. Maybe I'm a little biased though because it reminds me a lot of this Jeff Jones painting, which is one of my favourites:
"Complacency is the womb of mediocrity. " -- Jason Manley
"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." -- Bruce Lee
that latest one is fantastic
WHAT THE FARQ?!
dude these pencil sketches are amazing! love your work so much man! instant inspiration on the reeeeal. and holy shit dude that last painting with the chick in it is unreal! total progress overload!!!!!!!
and this one is veeery classy sir
I'm going to have to second what Nicky said!
"What the Farq!? Total progress overlaod!!"
haha, Stellar work, man!
Rob Powell: Thanks man! Means a lot for others to notice my improvements, as we all know it's usually too slow for us to see ourselves, ahaha.
Velocity Kendall: Thanks dood!. That one was my oil painting final for fall semester. Traditional painting is definitely HUGE in understanding color/form. I'll be sure to include more of that stuff.
Nickybeats: LOL! Well I'm glad you can dig it man. And same to you, boi. Improvements all around!
Andrew Sonea: You're totally right about that. I actually had something in mind that was along the lines of the painting you ref'ed (which is beautiful btw). But I turned my brain off in the middle of painting it and let my hand do the talking. :/ I always get too "overworked" in my stuff. Need to let go more... Thanks for the crit though!
CommandoFilis: Thanks! Glad you think so.
Here are some sketcheez:
Holy jeebus, your stuff is sick! Got some crazy talent right here.
Can I have your autograph?
