An Illustration I've been working on for the last several weeks. Im not sure where the Idea came from, it started out rather spontaneous and just grew. Fairly pleased with it myself, : ) Any thoughts would be great,
all sketchbook stuff from imagination, except the very bottom horizontal figure and still life.
First character design was done using marker pens and a fine liner, very fun to use : ) Last one was another simple still that was pretty solid to do,

Something I've worked on for the last couple of days, I hardly ever do anything sci-fi, fairly pleased .Really got to change my work ethic, hardly being productive recently, ought to get back to studies. Also, im going to be 17 in 20 days

Happy birthday then. Just 16 eh? You're work shows an amazing maturity IMHO. I went through the last coupla pages and see your figures show natural movement and your forms are quite good. Your pencil work is very sensitive too. If you keep at this you'll be a force to be reckoned with!
-Some greyscale work, first is some character design which took way more time than it should have. The portrait at the bottom was done while following a Daarken tutorial, though the face itself is from imagination.

2 words: Holy shit ! Congrats on the progress so far and just keep it up man !
LDQ, Thank you!
Arm studies, first are from photos, then some done in the mirror and finally some from imagination, that are rather too muscular ,Also a steampunkish character design.

Some other character scribble, done on photoshop.

thanks a lot for the kind words & the visit. One thing that annoys me when working with the tablet is that you don't have as much freedom of working as you do with the pen. I mean you can really grab the pen and use it. The tablet is restricted what tilting & co is concerned and frankly i really think that it's hard to properly paint with anything less than a intuous. And if you got a bamboo like me (cuz it's cheaper) then frustration grows. )
Anyways, on-topic, those traditional hands look awesome ! good eye man ! & the mirror studies are super close if not spot on to the non-muscular/regular joe arm.
Hey LDQ, I understand what you mean, theres a certain disconnect with a tablet+pen as oppose to when Im just using a pencil, it just feels more natural to use a pencil, obviously. But what I find with the tablet is the lack of control or coordination I have with it especially when using line often forces me to become more loose. I guess its just getting used to the feeling and learning to transition between the two. And thanks!
- A dwagon sketch in my sketchbook. I will upload some studies later,
I've done tones of studies in a scrappy a3 sketchbook that are fast and rough in biro, they arent really worth uploading so here are some of the 'prettier' pencil studies
more leg studies, the bottom pair are without refs.

Hi again, It's good to see you doing lotza recent figurative type studies a long with your "character" designs which have a nice feel to them.
Hey joes, really nice studies here! keep pushing those, you are on the best way. also do more color studies for skintones and stuff. i would love to see a few environments aswell. you allways remind me to pratcie more studies on my own. and now GOGOGOGO!

I dig your renderingstyle! Really inspirational. And the designs you do look great, fantastic imagination!
Keep at it!
-Some demon sketches from imagination
-Playing around with colouring using layer masks
-A pencil study from a part of a Uffizi painting, I really liked the drapery on the figure.
-Some hand studies

A concept for a futuristic/sci-fi stealth fighter. I quite like it at this stage, I'm not sure how i'd push the rendering further without spoiling it though.
and also a loose sketch of a heavy gunman, which I might work into some more.

Greyscale study from photo,
A fairly quick skin tone study from mmaphotography,
very nice stuff dude Your figures from imagination have nice anatomy and form I especially like the legs. You have good edges too on your characters.
Your pencil render is nice too.
If i had to say anything it would be try more envs and more oc, i know you dont do much fan art but just incorporate what you like about into your own designs
Hey TFSean, thanks for the advice
This is just some quick digital still life I dug up from a while back, I'll upload something else tomorrow.
Long overdue an update. Its not that I haven't got anything to upload, I just completely got out of the swing of trying to keep this thing up to date weekly. I've been ignoring my CA sketchbook That and I've also been rather busy with college in the last several months.
Heres something a friend requested, he basically wanted me to redesign Boba Fett with some oriental japanese theme. Its from back in february. Lines -
Here he is with some quick colour layers
I wanted to take some inspiration from Samurai armour, but I'm not sure I really got the whole oriental theme across aha.

A loose watercolour adaption/study of a tree folk from a painting by Kekai Kotaki done for Guild Wars 2. Was quite fun
All pencil stuff from life - I went to a place in the Peak district to collect some reference as part of a college project, so here's a couple of sketches in my sketchbook while I was there, the sheep skulls were drawn at college.
