What was it again?(no)
teapo: haha yeah it was delicious Yeah the wes study was definitely very educational.
Jeremy Swan: haha yep, I see a lot of mistakes in it now though looking back on it.
lancer idenoure: The wes study was about 4 hours so it was kind of in-depth? I know what you mean though. Thanks for the advice!
EDIT: Wow that was like a month to get a new page? I need to work more.
first is from hogarth, other 3 are from imagination!
I noticed I couldn't really draw fists, so:
armss from life
Done after I finished a test..then I started thinking I should do chem homework but I didn't. So I drew this chemistry guy+tubes instead.. Obviously wes-inspired. Basically just doodling, but I don't want to just copy..
all from head
Gestures done during a wrestling meet. Lol I really suck at these since they move so fast.
and then a couple quick environment studies from photos.

that gradient backdrop in the last photo study is cool-looking! seems like a calm place but at the same time overwhelming with that massive shape of the building...
Love the studies of the body and the background stuff Your going the right way! keep it up!
Thumbs up m8!
BlueCardinal: thanks man
reila_: haha well looking at it now it looks like crap.. thanks for dropping by
So like.. two weeks since the last update?
Been swamped with school, but luckily I got spring break now.. So time to draw again! I've been doing a little bit of drawing since then but just started drawing seriously and studying again today.
hands from life
3d visualization/vehicle concept.. Uhh yeah.. These will get better.
black/white photo studies, not going to do color on cars until I feel a bit more comfortable with them as a subject matter.
unfinished Syd Mead study that I probably won't finish
SP's! These weren't done today, rather sometime in the last week
some figures from imagination
and I noticed I was struggling with knees, so from Bridgman
This is cool, u can see your improvement really good, i like the car studies, awesome work in here!
i concur with ryan, you should really try and push your paints AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! Finishing something or getting very very close, it is in that time were you learn a crap load. Great studies again, can't wait to see you apply them. Keep painting sir!
Jeremy Swan: Yeah I just got kind of tired of the painting but now I'll consider revisiting it. Thanks!
ryanoir: No problem hehe. And thanks I'll consider trying it again.
jeremygordon89: Thanks man, I'll try and put some serious imaginative work out soon.
jelmerschmit: Thanks for dropping in.
Metal Fingers: Haha yeah, you're already improving like hell, I can't imagine how much faster you will out in Austin.
More car studies:
and then a couple of cars from imagination with a quick color overlay. They look like little toys haha. I'll get better because I'll do em again tomorrow.
45 sec gestures; excuse the text behind them, I was using old homework/handouts for these (saving the environment woo~). Hopefully you can still read the figures okay.
Characters from imagination, I tried coloring the second one but failed and then realized how much I suck with colors again.
is that all? ;D
watch your structure on the cars, apply what you learnt from scott robertson!
keep this up man
but also do longer shit too! like even work on one thing for an hour a day, and then at the end of the week you got a 7 hour painting/study! MUHAHA
Really good work! Hands... they are the bane of my existence! I've been meaning to do some silhouettes, can you give me any advice on brushes, or how to do them?
TheFallenAngel: I usually start off with big blocks of shapes and then chisel it out/add with medium brushes, and then detail it with small brushes. It's all done with hard round black brush with opacity pen pressure turned off. (Size for pen pressure is still on)
I've decided that I should stop avoiding colors and just do em. No matter how crappy the studies turn out.
Blek. 1.5 hrs. (Alice in Wonderland)
The last painting seem to be missing some darkest dark, looking alittle flat. Still, nice stuffs from the studies
My website : CHOO3D
Dude, there are good improvements in your SB. Try to really apply all those numerous anatomy and colors studies from books and references you've done for the past year. For me your Wes study is the best. Keep up the good work cause you are on the right path to achieve your goal!

is that all? D:<
more more more more more more more more more more more more more more more erom erom more more more more
come on skmop
hurry up hurry up hurry up
rockin studies too
very nice work output lately vincent! i'm enjoying all the car studies and would agree with ryan on paying attention to their structure-- the rendering seems to be fine right now but i'd say focus more on the drawing (i know, i'm like that too haha).
anyways, i think the silhouette thumbs turned out great-- you used up your creativity until you were no longer to sketch anything that's a good exercise to push your imagination.
p.s. sorry for missing all the updates
dude those studies are awesome, i like the silhouettes as well they're actually really good. You've pumped out a lot, keep em comping man, try different things if your burning out. Do something you like/enjoy. Peace
The car studies are looking cool.
maybe some more indentation(hourglass) and elongation to the torsos(#181);
a exercise for feet, grab a shoe spin it on the toe and draw it how it lies. That exercise and wearing a winter glove can help you look at hands in a new way.
something for gesture drawing http://pixelovely.com/tools/gesture.html.
I like the totoro life paint and the linework on those characters from head.

Awesome studies; I agree you should spend more time on them sometimes. Also would love
to see more work from imagination. Maybe do what I'm attempting, which is at least one
finished illustration per week alongside all your studies. Just an idea; but keep up the
great work man. You're getting better.
great studies. these will move you forward fast.
one thing, the vehicles you are doing are quite out of perspective. start with cubes for everything... the body, the wheels, etc. render in 3d and not just in shapes.
hope this helps! keep up the good work!
ryanoir: LAUL. Thanks man
teapo: I'll try and do some car studies in pencil. Thanks!
Jeremy Swan: Actually the silhouettes were supposed to be a change of pace for me, but I get what you mean.
surfandsnow: Thanks! I'll try the shoe thing by the next update
rodrigo!: Love your stuff!! Thanks for the advice and dropping by.
jeremy: I'm gonna try and do a weekly challenge every week now, and I usually do those all from imagination. Cheers!
MattGamer: Thanks for the tip! Yeah I'm still working on seeing in 3d.
Screencap studydome with ryanoir!
and a couple of environments from imagination.

Feil Magnus: Thanks
trying the shoe exercise that surfandsnow mentioned earlier. My pencil skills :/
actual sketchbook pages! sorry for the quality
couple cars from photos, this time focusing on the drawing and not the painting/rendering.
tires.. have defeated me once again.
