What was it again?(no)
LIVESTREAMING IN 5 - leyendecker studyin
EDIT: (stream over) follow @skmop for updates in the future (maybe hehe)
EDIT 2: should probably throw some art on here.
denz: thanks! (below)
aragah: Do you mean my anatomy has gotten worse or just not improving enough? In any case I think both are true. thanks for the kick!
I went to something called "Drawing Jam" here in Seattle recently. Really awesome, basically 7-8 hours of free models and art supplies.
Heres some samples of it
really dope variation on gesture drawing where the models were moving slowly instead of say 30 second poses. also really creepy with the music + face paint.

your drawings of people's faces are really nice. i am impressed with your set of differenct faces in different nationalities, keep it up
it has improved! but a small amount compared to the rest...
but if you did improved more on it the rest wouldnt be as good.
anyways.. what im trying to say (i think) is to just not neglect it completely. which i can see you arent!
so there isnt really a point to my crit....
im just walking in circles here.
awesome figures! i really like the ones that the models move, nice job!
i really like where you are going with that self portrait. keep it up. I was looking at your life drawings and there seems to be a lack of subtlety but good use of planes. try and break up those planes in certain areas so it isn't looking so blocky yet retain them in certain parts. Hope this helps!

iambanana: next time I do one I'll be sure to record steps! But basically I think the sharpness that you're talking about comes from seperating things into layers. When I first start off a study, I'll do the line drawing first, then use lasso tool to select each individual part. For a figure study like that it would be like the hair, body, background. After selecting them/filling them in I lock transparency so that I can't go out of those shapes. Does that make sense at all haha? At the end I'll go in and soften some edges. Very very similar to how Miles_ did in his boot study or how Hannes did in a lot of his studies on his livestreams.
Jmob: thanks your drawings are sick!
Xcarbon: thanks a lot man!
heres a sketch a kinda like, (painted all on one layer D: )
and another quickie!

ima steal your method and do that study/memory thingy
Help me improve!
Mind if I... stay a while? I seriously like your painting skills and most of all your lighting. I am seriously trying to get a handling on SOMETHING in my art. Dude I remember getting my molars removed. EVERYTHING SUCKED. I hated everything i hated the floor I hated the sun! haha How long have you been drawing? I can't wait to get to your level.
IsaacEs: it can get boring! just a warning haha
Whimsnicole: what environments are probably my weakest point imo! thanks! and also super flattered that you would read through all of it!
Eternal Apprentice: haha way too kind, thanks! Actually wisdom teeth was pretty pain free. I barely even used painkillers, not sure why it didn't really affect me. Uhh I found Conceptart in Nov 2009, so three years? That would be like of actually studying though (progressively more each year!). I think I always drew before that though like doodling or anime.
heres a couple gun concepts!

Those guns are sweet.
Wow three years. I found it a month after you did and I didn't really do much for two years. So I started in Feb this year... Why did I waste the time!! I could have been as good as you are! So anyway now i am trying to get better and stuff. my digital work needs a LOT of practice I can't get the nice effects and textures everyone has. It's all a learning process right?
Eternal Apprentice: Haha I feel the same way. Some people go from zero to hero in three years, definitely not a pro yet, which shows how much time I wasted, especially in the early part of the years. I think its important to try not to compare yourself to others too much though.
More work on the gun concept thing:
and a mini still life. seattle winter weather and its ninja sun is not the best lighting haha
yo man you need to update! cool stuff lately! the guns are really well rendered and the shapes are nice, but there's not much functionality to them? can't tell if they're smg's, rifles, or what. in a game production that would be very confusing. your grasp on lighting is really good though, my only crit would be to work on your proportions, design, and drawing. it's all lookin good though!
So much improvement, it is breathtaking. I can't wait to see one of your livestreams.
For Science- Sketchbook!
very nice sketchbook, loving the over all progress and tones you are getting in these studies are really awesome... the only critique that i can give is to improve your forms a bit more too.. they are good but not as great as your colors. try to do Just line art and try make it more dynamic you 'll learn alot about form that way.
really wonderful illustration, i tells a story and your sketchbook and improvement is great man.
