What a shame!
Great to see that you are applying your anatomy in these legs to see if you learned it right.
Definitely keep this sort of study up, it will help you much!
Last portrait really didn't turn out very good. Perhaps try practice noses. Do 100 of them!
Keep it up! Sil
@Silwynar: thanks mate! yes, you're right. that portrait sucks hard compared to a previous one i need to study the face and head more... it's my biggest weakness!
studies before i eat dinnurrr anatomy and a cornwell study (mostly for the colors) but! i did try out some new approaches and discovered some interesting techniques :U i might work on the study later on in between personal stuff. so far, this is my favorite master study i've done aside from old repin stuff way back.
And again comment
Why did you update just right AFTER my comment, hurgh
Your painting wip looks good. I would suggest to use more hard edged brushes. At the moment it looks like you used airbrush often. This tool isnt really nice in my opinion.
Figure sketches are great! I really like them. Are they from ref?
Try also to draw the bones inside this bodies again.
It reeeeeeeeeeeally helps!
@NickyBeats: thanks nicky~ i sure will
@Silwynar: swifty silwynar. you're just stalking me aren't you? lol jk. yes, the figures are from photo references and that last page were from my head xD. hehe, lately i've been finding myself using soft brushes to block in colors or massive shapes, but i do agree that overdoing it isn't always the best route ^^
quick imaginative sketch after dinner :3 nothing too serious(?) as there are many errors, but i needed the dose of creativity. still stuck in grayscale-- i tried attempting something in color before this and it was quite horrendous xD
perhaps i will mess with this more and correct the mistakes ?
Your pencils are continuing to improve.
Great digital characters in #751, however the anatomy tend
to be wonky on some places.
You are working before and after dinner? You are relentless.
Good imaginative piece, guess that you can evolve it much further.
I like the gifs of your progress in your still lifes and your portraits. I also notice a lot of people are studying ufc fighters lol... hmm. Maybe I should try that out!
I would probably crit on your gestures, maybe before copying the lines you should focus more on the volume of your models. That will give it a sense of depth. What I see right now, is that they're all 2d looking. use ellipses and boxes more to establish that form. Oh yeah, and study the skeletal structure, that also helps.

@LtPlissken: thanks mr. plissken! yes, trying to fill up my time and be more productive with me arts though.. come the late hours, i play some Demon's Souls ... i know, i shouldn't be distracting myself too much . also, i agree with you on the anatomy of the characters-- especially the girl in the middle, her head isn't aligned with her torso and something about the legs i think.. w/e it is, there are mistakes for sure
@poetry man: hehe thanks poetry man! yes, try the mma/ufc fighter studies good for observing the muscle placement on the body as well as action-y poses, yes? yeah my gestures aren't the greatest-- i do think they need to be a bit more minimal in the lines and i will take your advice ^^
not so much stuff done today but here you go-- 1.25hr still life from the laptop as usual :]
Hey Teapo, i see you dotted around sketchbooks i stalk all the time so thought i'd drop by ^_^ gotta start off by saying you've improved so so much! and i think what really makes you stand out is your ability to change your style loads, looking at some traditional sketches there really loose and full of gesture then some times your super tight and refined like in your recent still lifes, keep it up man a sketchbook like this keeps me going
@skMOP: thank you friend~ i will try to find interesting gifs to update the sketchbook avatar with :3
@Metal Fingers: thanks for the reply metal~ hmm... i can't decide for myself, but i find the non-hardback to be good quality-- but i'm still getting used to the hardback one~ i just recently started using it ^^
@Myszt: hehehe.... a girl with a playboy? ;3 thanks myszt! i look forward to more of your updates!
@fudgeloaf: thanks a ton fudgeloaf~ those are very encouraging words-- and i'm glad i can have that effect on some people to keep going with their art! i shall watch you grow as well ^^
some stuff from today-- i tried messing with that scribble from yesterday and can't decide if it looks better extending the canvas or as it is? also revisited an old color piece from few pages back *still wip* drawing my arms from the mirror and hogarth~ trying not to focus too much on rendering on my pencils for the time being as i need to work on structure of my figures so please excuse crappy imaginative pencil piece haha...
i will see you tomorrow with another update ^^
Fuck man you've stepped it up! Pencils are improving beyond awesome, anatomy's really looking solid too!
And those still lifes seem to have done wonders for your light and colour control, keep em' up!
Just encouragement from me bro, your doing it!
Hahaha you bet your booty I'm a girl with Playboys Been seriously considering a subscription to Suicide Girls as well. I have a high appreciation for the female form... and my skills at illustrating the masculine form suffer for it since women are all I ever draw ;] I shouldn't wink at that... it's actually quite unfortunate, but I cant stop haha.
Speaking of which, those are some rockin' booties you've got in those sketches. I approve of this theme! And armpits, which are surprisingly tricky most times it seems.
That's some sexy-ass ass you got going on in those figures..
On the last digital, not sure if you're looking for crits but oh well. The skins looking a bit too saturated and I don't really like the brush you're using for the tree. His stance also seems kind of awkward because both of his arms are pointing inwards and even though the other leg is hidden, it looks like both of his legs are pointing inwards as well. Might just be the white background throwing me off though.
So much shit in such a short time!
Are kidding me?! Where did you get the time to do this?
I was just stalking around in your sb again and then booom!
Again, put your damn bones again in your drawings This was great
And this troll was just nice ;D
You are improving your pencils too!
Keep it up dude.
@JailHouseRock2: holy shit matt~ haven't heard from you in quite a while yes, the studies are going great-- very helpful and i will have to drop by for sure~
@Myszt: keke.. thanks myszt! yes i will look forward to your playboy studies ;3
@skMOP: thanks skmop! and yes, crits are always welcomed as i need to know of mistakes i don't see myself-- the background is supposed to be white intentionally since the piece was done during a phase of me experimenting with coloring on white backdrops a few pages back xD. tyty
@HON!X: thx dude!
@fudgeloaf: ty fudgeloaf! i agree-- looks a tad better
@Silwynar: thx silwynar~ i'll keep the skeletal understructure in mind for the next studies
some studies from earlier today-- having a mirror is so convenient :3 lololol @ me socks! i will drop by sketchbooks later on today *promise*
@ryanoir: thx man! yeah i'm looking back on that sketch now and the head is a bit wonky also something wrong with her arm~ i shall mess with it!
quick env. thumbnails-- whoa i suck at these xD *gotta study more*
Teapo my friend!
What are you doing today?
Some gruesomely awesome new quick enviros you have here,
you made my spine to shiver out of joy.
Your pencils rocked my lungs through my scapula.
You are becoming a force to reckon with, so I better
put my battle helmet on before you rush rabidly toward my
@ryanoir: ah yes, heads are my weakest area~ i should really do more head studies :U thx dude!
@LtPlissken: uh oh... haha. thanks plissken!
@MattGamer: thanks matt!
@alexson: oh you will.. haha ty man!
