HAHA! Nooo way dreamer! You aint good enough to paint discount-corflakes-illustrations!
Sorry, but that is out of your range of skills ...
I think there is a chance. But you definitely should work harder!
No doubt. If you keep up that work we'll see you on the artbook of Warcraft 4!
Dude are you blind?! Get you ass up and ask them for work ... NOW!
What can i say... really nice to see you improve, that starcraft marine looks really good!
Keep em coming
lol Lateman! You got all the time in the world to get to the level you want. Dont stress it and get frustrated it serves no purpose!
Play some computer games or read a bit and get your mind off it for a while then get back to drawing when you feel inspired, thats what i usually do anyways when i get frustrated.
so here i am with just a few updates ... its not much but i feel a bit more confident in anatomie after doing these.
Im kinda short on time right now, so im not able to reply on everyone right now, but i will come back on these late.
as allways, thanks for watching and for your support!

Hallo my beloved CA!
Long time no hear But i was so horribly buisy during the past time. Alot of stuff I'm going through. Good and bad. It really feels like life is testing me. But im too stubborn to die, so that's good!
More good news would be that I was able to paint a card for WoW-TCG! That's pretty huge for me.
I also did a series of 4 cards for Cryptozoics "3012" boardgame. Can't post the WoW card quite yet, but i will asap. The sample prints or on their way to me aswell... im so stoked!
Other than that I'm freelancing at the moment. But it's pretty fucking hard (who would have thought?!!?) so I might slow down a bit and try to get more stuff going, approaching clients and such.
But enough of the words, lets post updates!
Sketches (Webside coming soon! - Latemanart.com) got a ton more sketches. will upload them step by step
Thank's for watching! More to come!
no mate, firstly its for you to keep a momentum, secondly i also feel bad for not coming sooner, but you may have to keep this alive more often to be a sure thing that there will be newer and newer things to see and discuss. But overally the good thing is that you keep up even when not uploading here.
Ok lets see, about crits. Improvement can be done in the values. And since we are talking about values, it also includes edge control and everything form in space related. For example in the illustrations above[not the traditionals] i dont see the use of some soft big brushed strokes to give a play between hard and soft edges[ however in the jacket one, the pointy texture adds a similar effect nicely]. Maybe you can take your works to the next level by reading about composition. Here some links
http://daphne.palomar.edu/design/contents.html [this is a great great one]
Your artwork has the potential to go to the next level very fast. Anyway you can be as angry as you want, but keep up anyway, thats the most important thing
Hey guys, hey kingkostas! Thanks for the reply and all the usefull links! Yeah I was pretty angry, but not just because nobody cared... I think I was most angry at myself. It seemed like i lost all my will and goals. All i wanted was to get insanly good at art and create sick pictures people would get crazy about but most of all create pictures that I would want to see! During those years i felt like i lost allmost all of that. Maybe because of the studio I've worked for... maybe because of drugs and personal problems. Today I'm sober and allmost free of all of those things and I seem to know again what I want! It hurts so much because i flushed so much time down the drain, but i can't change it anymore. All i can to is to be the guy i allways wanted to be! But it's simply enough of emotional words and self-pity. Let's do art!
Thanks for watching guys, really.
Hey Late! Seems i missed a ton of stuff here! Damn love that terminator! Thought it was a salamander first but dont recognice the chapter badge. Really like your traditional pieces aswell. Nice stuff!
Hey Lateman, glad to hear that you're on the way to overcoming your creativity problems. It's amazing how strongly drawing skills are connected to one's state of mind. But perfectionism and frantically trying to get to a certain skill level will only slow you down and cause you to lose the joy of creating art. At least in my experience. Try looking forward, ruminating over mistakes you made and your regrets doesn't help and is just a way of avoiding to change something. Ok, sorry for lecturing, I hope that helps somehow ... Have an inspirational video:
Nur die Harten kommen in den Garten
Lovely stuff. Those studies are particularly good. Your pencils have a nice feel to them as well. Nothing much to crit that hasn't already been said. Keep it up!
Really great stuff here, the improvement is amazing and you'll surely work at Blizzard if you keep going like this , although Blizzard isn't anymore relevant to the top of the industry as it was maybe 10 years ago. But , if that's your cup of tea , then go for it. I wish you the best and I'll definetly keep an eye on this sketchbook.
Please visit , comment , critique and have a chat with me
Loving this sketchbook, I'm pretty sure that if you keep up like this you'll end up in Blizzard, maybe even faster than those 4 years, ofc if they'll be in need for more artists, but if not Blizzard there are a lot of other awesome game studios out there.
http://www.conceptart.org/showthread.php?t=267414 - c&c welcome
hey there, awesome stuff in here. especially those still lifes.
there is no need to feel bad about your art, mate.
ich weiß nicht ob es dich ein wenig aufheitert, aber ich wünschte
ich wäre nur ansatzweise so weit wie du.
please keep your sb alive and don't give up on your dreams and hopes (:
First off: Thanks for all the replys and the good feedback! ♥ I just wanted to post this update real quick because im tired as hell right now... (zzz....) Tomorrow i will answer all the posts and get some love out there.
My WoW-TCG card got released!! Having nerdchills all over my body!
Also I've added a closeup of that "Bruma-Studios" logo that was posted earlier. I thought it should deserve some more attention because of all the detail and hours that where put in hammering on it.
The rest are just a bunsh of my personal sketches.
Thank all of you for watching!

@ Mr-Joe: If thats what you're interessted in it's pretty "simple" - I worked my butt off and got contacted by one of their artdirectors via DA.
@ chevy28360: I will! Thanks for stopping by mate!
@ kingkostas: Thanks you so much! Lets do it man. Maybe we can do some study or fun projects together at some point :-) I'm so sorry i did'nt check out your SB for so long (I'm kinda afraid LOL) but i will - brace yourself!
As always, thank you all for watching!
Okay here it goes:
Really cool mate, values are getting better and your sketches are lovely. On values i would suggest studying some 3d greyscale models low poly +high poly [with the wireframe if you can find, so that you can check the plane angles]. 3d models are a great way to study values as was plaster sculpts whatever monochromatic they used on the past for studying of values withought texture and color. Keep up the great work!!!!
