Ogre looks alot better with the cooler tones.
Cool works, that mushroom thing has nice atmosphere
Great work! I love the dragon trainer
The rock studies are cool, but I think that the second one is the best, there the spaciality is described best I think.
Fantastic work! I can tell you're working hard, and it's definitely paying off.
For the ogre piece, I think adding a skeleton or silhouette of a body at the bottom of the pit would help it a ton. Then the viewer can easily establish how big the ogre is and how deep the pit is. It would also give the piece a bit of a darker narrative, and make the falling guy's predicament seem more serious.
I love how you've got him emerging out in to the light though; that bit is exceptionally well handled.
Looking spiffy, do continue!
wow, thanks for all the support guys! It's really nice to hear the kind words.
I'm starting the CHOW 202, and my entry is going to be a 15th century german mercenary footsoldier.
more to come.

man, this is great work. really good sketchbook, definitely 5 stars. I'm sure CHOW will turn out great. and the study before it has lovely mood. And I should do studies like the last one myself, seems to be a good thing to do. Keep it going, cheers!
The values on this last face is sick!
Here are some metal studies... I might work up a library of these. I used to do more 3D art, and the material editor had a nice grid of material swatches like these little spheres. I could just grab renders from google, but painting each one by hand forces me to understand them a bit better.
