not only am i paying homage to a great artist and optical illusionist, im also satisfying my penchant for hands, intricate details, quirky expressions, and of course my main love - COFFEE! only thing that keeps me going...
this piece was a lot of fun. it was practical practice in that i learnt as i went, and ended up with a good folio piece. pretty happy with how it turned out. calling it finished, but crits are always welcome!
I love it, very hard for me to crit this piece.

It is a very good tribute to Escher! I'm not sure about your expression though. Are you happy/excited looking or are you screaming because you're holding a metal cup filled with a hot liquid in your hand and it's burning your fingertips? Either way, it is neatly painted! cheers!

Oh my god it's too funny..! Great work!
... That room looks profanely tidy though. That's just inhuman.

amazing value!! really nice renders!
you raise a good point, Bralt Hannicart. it was difficult to gather sufficient reference as the cup i used wasnt the cleanest of reflections, i had to make a lot of it up and bluff it. that being said, i kinda like the middle of the road expression in that its a little manic, a little bit crazy
i'd have shown more detail Ahnem Mee, but honestly the majority of clutter is on my desk (which is in front of me and therefore doesnt get included in the reflection). that, and i wasnt about to paint every t-shirt and sneaker lying about in its usual fashion, i'd have died! hahaaa
thanks JailHouseRock2, edgework has been a big focus for me as of late, trying to find that happy medium between too hard or too soft, as well as taking into consideration the materials im rendering. still not perfect but getting there! freelance is going amazingly well, i've been picking up around 1-2 new commissions every week, so the biggest thing for me is time management. definitely happier and a lot less stressed overall, though (thanks for asking!)
oh and WyckdNick, Joshua Reimer, darkblast - thanks heaps for the support!
Really really well done, but if you like coffee so much, maybe you should get a bigger cup. Unless it's espresso?
dogfood, it may be cause i havent had much coffee today that i dont get what youre saying... but thanks?
oh but NathanLong, i DO love coffee. very much so! the tiny cup is indeed intended for espresso's, i dont like the coffee to be masked by milk. caffeine gets to your system quicker too
aw man the values and everything in that is so spectacularly immpressive.
cool man i like it lol
