You're doing great keep it up, I think you'll improve faster if you focus just on drawing, and leave painting for later
Keep up the hard work man. Crimson daggers!!
have a good one
Some nice character design here!! You sure are making a progress here. So, did you or didn't you have that pen tablet already? No worry if you haven't, in fact, you can just practice your pencil more and more! Cuz as it occurred to me, when i finally got my wacom, i rarely touched my good ol' sketchbook again while i should! I have come to conclusion that pencil drawing is what taught me more. What you have learned by traditional media can be applied in digital, but rarely does the opposite.
So, keep it up!
Good to see you're studying hard.
When shading, pay attention to your value scale. Now your using too much black and white and that makes everything look metallic. Usually the skin has mainly mid tones, even in the shadows. Only those places that receive no light at all are very dark, allmost never completely black though. Value studies from photos help, but painting from life is even more helpfull in imho.
Well, there's my two cents. Keep up the good work, my friend, and keep posting to Crimson Daggers.

Ismo- hey man thanks for stoping by yea i did a photostudy that really helped me and opened my eyes more about light and shading, i think im going to work some more on shading maybe do a few pics in grayscale for a bit and try to ge that down, thanks for the tip
well here is my update for today
Diggin the orc study man though I think you could make it pop more of the colors were more saturated not sure how the original photo looks though.
have a good one man
nice sketches !!! well i see you practice a lot- still no tablet??? .Keep the good work!!
well guys been a long while since i posted on here no new studies just some personal work but comments and crits are welcome!
first 2 are an entry for cghubs drawing jam odd couple (one is a color test)
the other is a redo of one of my more recent characters let me know what you guys think!
hi undeadartist!!, very good improvement, well about proportion to learn faster, try to always analyze where joints start or end, everything is a relation, see Da Vinci Canons(mesures) and with color force yourself to use the less solid white or black, make hues, increasing hues to the edge will make the edge, and at the end ad very careful white and black, it will make to stand out of the paper sheet or blank document/suppport whatever....hope you can understand and sorry by all my englush mistakes....keep posting..
hey spawner thanks for showing some love and not a problem with the english, but yea i know exactly what you mean been having those problems for awhile now, im planing on starting more still life studies and trying to do some lifedrawings and working on a whole other painting right now that im straying away from all the whites and blacks but thanks for the crits and the time and i will keep posting man thanks
great to see you back, improving all around even from the start to bottom on this page alone
keep it up fellow dagger!
