hey CA! havent been able to visit recently as the site was being worked on or whatever happened... but just wanted to post some of my recent stuff that i was doing in the meantime...
good to be back !
Holy shit - Chun Li post fight is hella sexy!
You have gotten better since I saw your SB last - although I still recommend you working more w/ perspective/rotating the camera. It will really improve your ability in the long run.
Keep it up yo!
Wholewheat_keyboard - thanks man! rotate the camera? you mean, choose less generic angles for my characters? if thats the case, your totally right, i get really lazy with character designs...
heres a wip for the currnt chow...
Nice stuff! Dig that Akira (Canada - mutating) pic! Fearless - keep em coming!!

That Bubble Bobble redesign is uniquely badass. It makes me wonder why people on here don't cover Taito's games more often. (You should do the Darius games next.)

Havn't watched ur sb for awhile. Great stuff is going on here.
I'd suggest work out ur next piece or an older one to the best u can. I promise u gonna learn alot by doing so .
Also Really like ur costume designs.
haha i love that wtf sketch, great progress dude, and awesome work and great job on your anatomy and lighting too

monstertree - hey man! thanks a ton!! ill be dropping by your book very soon! always love seeing what your up to!
Lakai - just for you man, i felt like trying to really push one of my character designs. i wish i had more time to spend on it, but its an assignment for class.
blazingdimensions - thanks a bunch man!! really appreciate it!
this guy has desert lighting on him, like bright lighting, so hopefully you understand why he is so bright... although i should probably imply some desert bg or something...
awesome nicky! Really love the design.
He's not too bright imo, i agree with u a desert bg would help sell the idea. U could just color the bg it shouldnt take too long to do.
The only thing i would crit is the anatomie esp. the face. A good face can really improve the whole impression.
I did a small overpaint i hope that is k? If not just tell me and i gonna delete it .
I Didnt changed alot in the face its just blending, u dont need all the little bumps it just makes him look rather old. Dropshadow and the "local values" (i dont know if its called like that, but its the same principle like with local colors) should be enough to give the impression that its a face.
god damn really sweet edges lately, you are really stepping it up lately huh! theres alway room for improvement get off that comfort zone man and work it! cant wait to see more nicky!
llex_paul - story of my life haha, but tis very true!! i will try to work on some longer studies to correct this, thanks man!
Lakai - man! thanks so much for that!! really appreciate you taking the time! the face looks a million times better too, much more smooth. the character does live in a rough desert environment, so i may leave a little of the rough lines on his face, but i think a good mix between your version and mine should work! thanks again dude!!
lionheartGFX - thanks a lot man!! really appreciate the kind words!
hey guys! havent been able to do too much sketching on my own because of classwork, so i have mainly been doing designs for school, or portfolio stuff, but nothing worth showing at this point hopefully will have some cool stuff soon though! so stay tuned...
Wooow Your stuff is awesome, you are a force to be reckoned with your digital painting. I am so envy.
conroyconroy - thanks man!! much abliged!
can never remember what i have posted and what i havent, ill just post a few things i know i havent...
Great studies mate!! nice use of soft transitions in the portrait, contrasting with some hard edges.
the hands, i love !!![maybe work in that way in some of your works]. Keep up working the values. Do studies on tones , search which are the basic tones etc. Try to paint objects around you as simplified masses [ok if something is cube then do it as it is but with simplified value range, not the inbetween transitions]. You will improve your understanding of 3d forms and how to simplify them in different planes
lets keep up mate!!!!
Cool stuff yo I like your characters, but I think they're poses are a bit stiff. Some gesture studies would probably help, but yea overall good stuff. Also, keep udating this regurarly I like seeing your stuff.

kingkostas - lots of very good advice, and thank you very much for taking the time to paintover for me! you are such an awesome dude Kostas!! much respect dude!!
Papu - your wish is my command!!! thanks ! and yea, i do really need to get a better range of gestures in my work. everything feels very cookie cutter. too much of the same thing over and over. gotta work on that.
mathias92 - haha me too!! if i get some more free time i will definately try to ablige you good sir! thanks for stopping by!
so there is this dude over on facebook named Mike Tiscareno who made this awesome sheet with hundreds of little character thumbs on it, and said that anyone who wants to, feel free to work them up to a more finished level! a very cool idea indeed!! so i grabbed a few of my favorites, and picked one to work up...
man havnt been in here in a while, lot of good stuff you are busting out! great that you did one of mikes thumbnails, i did one too! thought it was a great idea and absolutely had to participate :b anyways your doing good so ill be back for more soon!
kevin_ - ah sweet! yea i thought that was a really cool idea too! lots of people already did some, its really cool to see all the different styles!
