Medusoid - i think it might be all of the random little things that are covering him, but i see what you mean. he looks very stiff, even for partly being robotic too haha. but ill see if i can tweak it without ruining it.
just some quick colors. i like characters that have alot going on, but i think im gonna need to give him a monochrome layr on multiply or overlay just to give him something to tie all of the colors together.
Medusoid - i tried checking your sketchbook, not sure if it updated or not, but ill check again the next time i get on.
heres a quick portrait of my chow character
Lol well I changed my cover image if you were looking for it in the SB thread. But it's the one with the green tailed person thats very roughly painted in
Im liking the face btw, nice job on the lips, they cause me so much trouble... probably why I avoid close ups on the face XD
Hope I can get my chow entry done in time
Medusoid - hey man ill try to do a paintover if i have the time, but at the moment i have a shit ton of class work to do at the moment.
heres just 3 of the 7 head sculpts that i have to do for my organi modeling class i am taking at school.
the list is..
1) head sculpt of a generic head build
2) head sculpt of a generic male head
3) head sculpt of a generic female head
4) head sculpt of a male head with an expression
5) head sculpt of a female head with an expression
6) head sculpt of an alien or creature with similar human features
7) and finally another head sculpt of an alien or creature with similar human features
Sean McClain - ohhh jeeez haha thanks man! but.. i still say fail. actually more now than back then haha. onwards and upwards!!
heres a comic cover i was asked to do by my teacher, it was for a group of students in her class, and im not getting paid for it, im not receiving any college credits for it, so i aint going any further than this for her.
Medusoid - haha yea doing free stuff is never fun! but thanks man!
Icecold - thank you mastah!!
goofy stupid sketch
bored at work, noone showed up for tutoring help
Really like where Ursula is headed especially the style youve chosen for the face. The materials are looking very nice and the composition and colour scheme. Only thing that niggles me is the hands, know its not finished but their general composition doesnt seem very evil and they bend a lil awkawrd.
Was following the last Chow and I really liked your guy, I think in terms of design you actually created a very believable time assassins, maybe not the slyest as you said but I totally see him doing his thing so kudos on the design.
very nice work here, I especially like the last round of sketches!
art is never finished, only abandoned~Leonardo da Vinci
What's up, NickyBeats. Very awesome sb you have here. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get through it all in one sitting, but I will definitely be going back through in the next few days.
I really liked this:
I will be going out to get me a pack of prismacolor markers this weekend. Also, thanks for the tip on actiongirls.com.

TFsean - hey man, thanks a bunch!! glad you like the stuff! and your right, those hands on Ursula were really bugging me too, probably the reason i stopped painting it haha. but thanks for dropping by dude!
DennisH-Art - thanks man! glad you dig it!
ezekrialase - thanks!! much appreciated!
bish0p2004 - yea dude i wouldnt expect anyone to sit and browse through all 60 whatever pages in one sitting! haha thats nuts! but thanks a ton for the kind words man!! i do appreciate it!
Fetsch - thanks man!! ohh my god no kidding right?! i need to study something soon, or ill just end up repeating stupid rookie mistakes for the rest of my career!!
Riox - heeeey Riox! long time no see!! how you been? thanks for the kind wrds! i appreciate it! just dropped by your sketchbook too, your getting damn good!!
ok heres just a few sample pages from a comic im doing at the moment. dont want to give away too much right now, but just something to let you know ive been working. by the way i did 7 pages (up to this level of finish) today.
7 comic pages in one day. i feel like a beast!!!!!! YAAAR!!
Cool comic pages lately !
Ah yes, but where are these seven comic pages? You are holding out on us?! Lookin good. I like how you actually have a side plane on the head of the guy getting strangled and one or two others. Haha, sorry, I'm a jerk. Those head sculpts are sweet too. I really like how you did the folds around the mouth and that form diagonally between the eyes and nose.
There's something a bit better about your traditional drawings vs. your digital ones. They're a bit cleaner or something. You might try using a smaller brush and making more marks with digital?? I appreciate the hatching though. I had a class in school where all we did for the first four or five weeks was draw evenly spaced lines.
S Ciaffaglione - thanks man!
ErikR - thanks!
Mr. Corlan - hey man! thanks for dropping by! and as always i appreciate the input, i definately need more time to do studies. im not trying to make excuses or anything, but i have almost no free time lately because of school. i never think ill have time to work on studies so i do goofy sketches and stuff instead. i cant wait until break because im gonna become a study machine.
sketch for the dsg.
Oh yeah man. I wasn't trying to call you a slacker at all. I know you're workin'.
That DSG looks awesome, you're definitely starting to get more form in your rendered figures. I gotta get involved in that DSG business one of these days, those topics are sweet.
All the best,
Good stuff in here.
You have some great concepts and ideas, but something I have to note is you should work on good solid construction, like what goes where in a threedimensional space and how things contort etc.
Like Sean McClain poitned out, despite some anatomical issues the Wolverine is badass with it's muted palette and sense of movement.
Also something I'd consider is working on differentiating surface materials to give the characters and things more contrast.
I hope this helps, keep it up man.
