Most noticeable thing in your figures is the length of those chicka legs. I would make them just a bit longer than you think you need and then they should be just about right.
In your digi face, the left (his right) cheekbone is sagging, got to watch that drift, I suffered with this (and continue to.. although I'm more aware of it now). Tuck it up a bit.
Fun sketches.. looks like you're going for the fantasy theme, I like that a lot.. I'm not sure which is more exciting, sci fi or fantasy.. =)
Aahh, the "pretty sketchbooks problem". I have that myself. I have two moleskines waiting for me to get better.
Don't worry so much if you have a bad day. It happens to everyone (I think.. ). I would recommend to draw something different, take a break from the reference/anatomy stuff by doing say a fanart of a game or movie you like. Then go back to your studies.
Kungfoowiz: thanks for the comment and pointers.
lerchi: Yeah I do that all the time. So I have a bunch of sketchbooks for different purposes. If I have a strong piece in mind that I'm going to do lines for, I have a "quality" sketchbook for that. And a sketchbook for gestures and studies and crap like that. And one for super quick note drawings that I can put in my pocket And yeah.. I need to make more personal paintings. I have done some but haven't posted D;
Did it late at night.. doodlidoo
Tried that black and white to color technique again.. I can't fucking doo iiiiit D:
C.O.W entry, still very rough..
figures and stuff
Halloween related sketches. I'm thinking of painting the last one.. maybe..
you're doing great honey.
Keeeeeeeeeeep pushiiiiiiiiiiiingggg forward c:
Ur digital artwork is very good. Keep it up
Bella: Thank you
Majinmetz: Thanks mate!
Still working on my C.O.W piece. Going to wrap it up tomorrow.
This is just some experiment I did.. Wanted to play with colors. It looks kinda weird lol.
I did some gestures too but I can't scan anything right now. I might tomorrow and then edit this post.

Woah seriously check out the improvement in the last 2 pages man you've really kicked it up a notch BAM!. Your studies are turning out great and you can tell from your imaginative poses too watch your line quality though! Your photoshop has improved loads too since i last posted, I especially like the weird big lipped monster guy his hair and lips are juicy! Thanks for the inspiring words mate! dont stop this workload go go go!
I'm so sorry bro, haven't been around, but been pressured so much at Uni. =(
My first impression is that your colour work has improved a notch. For your figures, try look into using a more flowing gesture to establish your torso and pelvis.
I like that you are not being as scratchy with your lines anymore, but now you may want to look into capturing a more dynamic shape with those precise lines.
Okay cool, go hit those next studies bro, see you in about 10 billion years time, when I finally have more free time from UNI. =)
i like your colors in the arctic chase scene. and general awesomeness throughout your sb. keep it up
Art and kindness are my weapons of choice.
Hey Loathsome, great work on the cow! I love the colours you chose for the Enviro and those poor eskimo fellas. I think the creature turned out a bit too dark to see all the details.
I see you're practicing a ton and doing all the right things, the "weirdguy.jpeg" a couple of posts up looks really great, do more of those :>
Kungfoowiz: S'cool. And I'm trying to do that, they will be better gradually.
badass: haha love your CA name. Thanks.
Alexon: Grraaaah puush it to the limit! Thanks
Edward: Thank you! Yeah, I think you're right. I guess I wanted it to pop against that white/red snow and I went too harsh with the blacks (no racist joke!).
Artwork I didn't want to post before, for some reason. I'll be touching up them for sure later on. Especially the second piece since I think it's one of my stronger portfolio pieces. I'll fix the lightning a bit and some edges here and there.
Last night I decided to make concepts out of the eskimo people that's included in the C.O.W piece. I don't know if I'll finish them..
This is the rough sketch of them anyway..
Crap day today though.. been struggling with technical stuff (monitor color and adobe color-profiles and such). Such a waste of time... Got to step it up tomorrow.
cool stuff loathsome!
the COW turned out pretty nifty. additionaly to what I mentioned in the wip-thread I noticed that you could work up the inside of his mouth a little bit. just show that there's a throat it's going into because it looks a bit flat as of now.
and I really like the portfolio pieces especially the second one you're working on.
I'd tone down the lightarrays a little bit and make them slightly seethrough. they look very solid as they are now.
the character in that one is awesome already.
thanks for the tips mate Helpful! Nice stuff. Keep uploading!
My tip for you would be when painting. Yry not to use the same color and just change the saturation & lightness. Move the color/Hue a little bit to. play around. & avoid black at first, instead use a dark colour. like a dark cold blue for eg. or whatever fits the painting. Also use a lot bigger brushes & strokes.
When observing in real life, totally forget what you are painting, don't think that skin tone is blue. The magic begins when you shut down that part of the brain. you start to see there's a hints of other colors on the object then.
Also on the floating guy. Don't forget to hint the watcher about where the ankles are.
That way you get the sense of direction on the feet
monotony: Yeah I agree, thanks for the pointers. I don't think I'll go back to the COW piece but I'll totally fix the lightrays in the portfolio piece.
Alexon: Sure thing mate!
wr00m: That's too bad, I thought I improved on these things.. comparing the pieces I did earlier.
Kungfoowiz: That was just to give me a reason to do 100. I do figures every day. That's about 13 - 30 a day. That's even more than 100 in a week.
B-Man: Ow fuuuck
Hey guys. I've been a bit inactive, sorry! I've just felt lazy with the scanning again. I've also hit a wall, so I spent some time playing games again. I've felt a bit burnt out. But I'm back in the game again.. this time I'll remind myself to take breaks and such.
But just to sort of prove that I haven't been slacking, here's pages I've done during the span of the days I've been "inactive"
It's over 60 pages of mostly figuredrawing. 10 of the 60 are concept ideas and such.
Here's something to go along with the update so the post ain't completely art-less.
Nice work, what i have to say is change your pencils, and take some 2B hardness pencils as well so you can work more on the darks.
Yeah dude! Keepin busy I see. Keep it up. I really like the values in that last digital.

But don't forget that you never stop learning. The more you know the less you know, you've surely heard that figure of speech
And i see that you're using a bigger and more secure brushstrokes on the photostudy. Don't you agree it's already starting to look alot better? & values look nice too.
Wish i had your energy filling that large amount of figures in a short period of time.
sorry if I made you doubt, didn't mean it like that at all. You helped me on the anatomy. thanks again mate!
Kungfoowiz: Thanks! She had a very squareish face. And I guess that's a matter of preference too.
Lark: Yeah it's been pretty crazy lately, trying to keep up with studies and such! Thanks!
wr00m: No worries, I didn't get the wrong idea. I just thought it showed that I'm aiming at that since it got better. Atleast I think it did.
Towy: Thanks man! I'll try my best not to slack off
Sorry it's been a while. I'm in the middle of moving in to an apartment with my girlfriend and it's a lot to keep track on. Furniture and contracts and calling a bunch of places.. it's really draining. I've done a few figurestudies though and some personal paintings. I'm planning on doing a lot more when this hectic stuff starts settling down.
Oh and, I got a conceptart job I'm happy for that. That will totally help me when moving in. I won't be able to expose anything though.
Here's some stuff.
Characther design sketch. Quick painted sketch. 3 hour commission painting.
