Hello Conceptart! This is a pretty big moment for me, my drawing skills have been nurtured by these sketchbooks for a long time - and I'm finally happy enough with my work to create one of my own! As usual, however, there's quite a bit of humbling material in these forums, so my intentions are to continue to push myself (with these heavy-hitters as motivation) and get some feedback from you lovely artists.
I'm 22, I have a degree in philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin, and I'm trying to make it as an illustrator (currently just moonlighting; swim instructor by day).
Hope you enjoy!
Haha, I love the 3rd image, something about the monsters expression makes me crack up each time I look at it xD
Thanks Hayriel, goofy monsters are a pretty big theme in my art.
Messed around with acrylics yesterday for the first time in about 4.5 years. I used some balsa wood that was lying around, which immediately warped (downside) but has the potential to be carved out in an interesting way with a razor (upside). Also involved: some microns. Sketch done with watercolor (the wood was indenting a lot with even light pencil use).
I also just noticed that ConceptArt's uploader has no category for "acrylic" - at least nested under sketchbook it doesn't...
Thats a unique form ..I like the second one most http://attachments.conceptart.org/fo...1&d=1344895441
That third picture in the first post is so cool. Definitely shows a lot of style. Keep drawing!
