Here is my most recent piece which was accepted into this years Spectrum. I dusted off Oink for some new pieces...I just love drawing him. I have a new story for the series, but it's going to be a while before I can get the time to do it.
I'm doing a talk this Saturday for CA. I really look forward to sharing my 18 years of experience with the CA community.
i just want to say your an amazing artists and i hope someday that I reach the level of expertise that you have, thank you for this opportunity.
im two quarters away from graduating and im currently working on my demoreel, so i hope you give me some great tips.
The fact remains that our world will come to an end, its NOT just a hunch.
Amazing work man, I love your use of colour.
Nice-I like it, especially the exit woonde on the guys shoulder-VERY cool.
Warms my heart. Oink helped re-kindle my interest in comics. I still use images from it for presentations in my illustration classes. Hope a new one is coming, but I understand the time thing.
what? you are still posting here?! i did love your old comicwork!!
Awesome piece John! I remember reading a couple of issues of Oink about 4 years ago, owned by a teacher in college who brought us some of the best comic book work around, so we can see that it can be as good or better than anything contemporary art can present.. Really inspiring man! Wish I could afford the class your giving...
awesome! Glad to see you back in the saddle you belong Mr. Mueller!!

Beautiful piece as usual, haven't seen any new Oink stuff since... well shit since as long as I've known you. Nice!
-Success is getting what you want, Happyness is likeing what you get-
Love it - great composition, colors, action and detail.
Ben, you were like 12 or something when Oink came out so I guess that's to be expected :p
Lobster! Thanks man, I tweaked it by about 10% and I think you're right the head is a tad small...I'll save out a version and look at it in a week, that's when I see things a bit clearer.
haha, gah- it almost works rotated cool! I think that would have been a better comp.
Looking forward to Saturday, no heckling!
yay John! really looking forward to the talk on saturday! you are a man of considerable experience with a lot of great sdvice to share. i cant wait!!
great new oink piece by the way. id be really curious to see you tackle another oink story, just to see how youd do it now.
ill always be your fanboy
This image remind me of the classical paintings of purgatory with a sort of modern Americanized twist to it. Cool stuff.
ok so i know that i'm not anywhere near capable of making a piece like this just yet, and you're like an amazing freaking talented artist and i'd probably drink your bath water if it would help me any..so i feel weird saying something needs to be fixed...but...you should to take a look at the left arm and hand of the bald guy.The hand seems too small and the arm itself looks angled wrong or something..maybe its just the way the muscles are, i dunno, but it feels off.
"Steering perception? i am.
Inviting contradiction? i am."
Hey Riot, thanks! I actually had struggled with that arm quite a bit and it never really sat right with me. I added some space to my canvas and drew through the problem though. thanks!
Here is a rough of the changes on the arm and I also scaled Oink's head up a bit.
Here's another Oink piece I just finished...after 15 years finally! I'll rework stuff forever, I think that's why I both love and hate digital.
Wow, hella slick, you have style! Thanks for sharing John. I may watch the live stream. I am such a fan of your work. I wish you could post more often. Thanks for sharing.
The live stream was a lot of fun, it was just a great experience. I really enjoyed all the questions and I am glad people found it informative and entertaining...thanks to Coro
