please visit my page and help me.
Nice work. Once again I'm impressed by the growth shown from early work to later work. I hope when I have a years worth of sketches posted I see the same type of improvement. Your later pencil sketches in particular have really improved.
I also really like your ink drawings that have a woodcut feel. Very nice.
I really like your linework on your pencils. If I may suggest something, I think you may want to give your characters some facial expression--generally they are very calm and placid. For example, in your last painting, even though this guy just got the crap beat out of him he still seems quite calm. Keep drawing.
Looks good, but there's something wrong in his face. I think that the shadows may be too hard, atleast the one next to the nose. His mouth might need a bit widening too.
His cape seems very thick. Check this: http://img1.classistatic.com/cps/kj/...092l11_19.jpeg The coat is rather thick too, but the wrinkles aren't very "heavy", maybe it helps a bit.
Nice work on his hand
I must say I love your pencil works, and looking at your most recent stuff in comparison to your older stuff is very impressive! You've really improved and you should be so proud of yourself!
Your colored pieces lack uniformity to me though. Like, I see your two most recent colored pieces, (Posts 371 and 376) and there's all this blue and purple and it's nighttime and yet these characters are colored in this bright pinkish fleshtone. Color is light and light reflects off of everything it touches. These men should have so much of their dark surroundings reflecting into their skintone and I don't really see any of that!
I love your designs though, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the critiques guys, I went ahead and reworked the cloak. I think it looks better as far as the folds go. Also I realize that it's unnatural to have warm colors in a night scene. But I did it mainly because I like the foreground to background contrast with cool colors in the back and warm in the front, I can see tho where that doesn't come out to clearly. I did tweak the colors a bit so the values reflect a night scene better. I'll try something a little more realistic next time. Thanks again everyone.
Wanted to say thanks for your comments and also say that your pencil drawings are great!!! and so are your paintings, however like Digiteasel said about the colors is true and you worked on them, but you should maybe reference night portraits and the background needs to be a little darker, maybe use a gradient... but thats what I think, still a noob so maybe I'm wrong, bug anyways keep it up!!
Thanks all for the comments! I haven't been able to update in a while because my internet is currently down But I'm moving in a week or so to a new apartment and I should have everything up and running then. Here are some new sketches, I'm currently working on a new painting also that I'll upload when it's closer to being finished.
