been working with sketchup for a little while and this seemed like a good place to get some feedback. I've seen some really encouraging stuff around here. Also, any thoughts on how to take a few of these to completion on Photoshop?
In particular, I like the second image. It could use a bit more work on the composition but its by far the strongest of the three. The ship thing in the background, did you put all the plate ridges in by hand or did you use a greeble plugin?
Regarding finishing something off.. I like to jump into PS and start trying things out until something sparks that drives me to finish. There are various techniques on doing paint overs and plenty of tutorials around. You could either export an image straight out of sketchup and treat it like a traditional sketchbook paint over or try painting over your 3d renders.
Oh and welcome
Thanks for the tips. The background ship thing was push/pulled by hand to a half model then mirrored and joined. Then it was just making a few changes to one side or the other to kill the symmetry a little. I think I'll try your idea of working on it as a sketch in PS. It seems a more natural, painterly way to approach it.
Welcome! Great stuff you have here. I like the clean lines of the first building in the first pic.

Howdy all. First, let me tell you that I think this is a wonderful site. I am a drug prevention specialist and my primary mission is to help keep kids away from drug use/abuse. I am not a recovery specialist, but Im hoping that I can get some insight from people here on how to help keep kids away from drugs. I dont judge, and I have thick skin. I appreciate any insight you might be willing to provide me.
Thanx in advance
