stunning and an audacious color scheme. Great work.
And oh yeah, nice angle. Nice dramatic stuff and neat seeing the thumbnails working your way towards that.... of all the thumbs, that one that becomes the final is definitely the most interesting one.
Storn A. Cook
awesome..good to see the thumbnails too
Great choices, excellent piece.
Watch out for Piranhas
Really nice piece. Great colors and modeling of form, and a beautiful painterly look.
I'm having a few minor troubles with Dorothy's anatomy, though. Maybe it's just me, but her left knee looks low, giving her a very long left thigh. Her left shoulder and breast look low to me as well. Or maybe it's something with her head. Hmmm. I guess her head and torso kinda look like they're in two different perspectives.
Well, nobody else seems to have noticed it, so maybe I'm nuts. Anyhow, great work. Let's see more.
@NathanLong: Yeah, kinda looks like that, but I only noticed it after reading your comment. I think the problem with the left knee depends also on the highlight on her pants...but I'm not shure.
Anyway it's a great picture with very nice modeled shapes and colors. Show more!
Not only did I have to sit next to you all week and see people "ohhh & ahhh" over this painting, but now you posted here! I have to say I'm tired of looking at this thing!
The final looks great, but don't forget to thank me for all the help I gave you along the way. Like encouraging your Mountain Dew addiction.
Anyway, hope you had a good trip home....and good luck with the job hunt.
Talk to ya
Beautiful work, great colors!

Looks great. Very cool concept and beautiful execution.
Very nice. I like the pinks and reds. Really cool. Good illistration too. All around great.
you rock my friend. the hometown still misses your talent.
so glad we all talked you into color choice B, it looks amazing. It was awesome meeting you and watching you work on the piece. I was the one with the blue hockey hat and was working on the lady of the lake stained glass window. Keep up the awesome work and hopefully I will see you there next year.

carnalizer - thanks!
storn - thanks, I like audacious stuff, especially colors. Sometimes I think i should be pulling back a bit to see what I can do with a more selective and subdued palette. maybe next time, eh?
dekal - its all about that process man!
Piranha clan - thanks
chuck, mate - thanks man, love your colors as well!
Nathanlong - oh man, you're quite right. I never even picked up on it until you said anything. I probably won't change it at this point, but i definitely see what you're saying! thanks for the sharp eye!
guntrouver - thanks, yeah i probably could have referenced the pants a little more, but for now, onwards and upwards!
Derek - Hey homie, how's it going? So YOU'RE tired of looking at this thing? How do you think I feel??? I sippin' down a Dew as I type this, "addicted" is too nice a word. Maybe we'll meet up at one of these conventions later on, but for now I am so broke it hurts. Keep it real, sir!
SpringBorg - thanks!
semicolonoscopy - thanks, the execution is something i'm trying to step up lately

DanielC - thanks dude
themissinglink - yeah, purple was the way to go I think. So you're attending again next year? If the planets align just right, hopefully I will go too.
Dizon - Glad to hear, its tough to get dynamic poses that aren't "over the top". thanks!
Thanks for the comment on mine! This image looks amazing and you've gotten your much deserved 5 gold stars! I don't have that much to say about it except that it would have been cool to see it all printed out huge and colorful and maybe try some of what Scott was doing by painting over the printouts... just for the hell of it.
I love the way you rendered things and the concept is great. See you next year.
great as usual, Ive always liked your stuff, very solid and really nice color work
WOW! Simply wow, McLean! I love the color vibrancy.. why can't video games look like that!?!?!?
The shoulder of the right arm seems a bit clunky or not integrated into the piece quite as well as everything else, but thats a nitpick. I also really like the greenish color scheme in the small thumbnail, but this one is great too.

Damn, you rockin it again.
I dig the juicy colors and stylized smoke
I love the colors, although I would suggest putting a bit more contrast on her face, maybe the eyes or make the lips a redder shade..
Awesome stuff McLean. Love the dynamics and always love your color choices. Thanks for sharing.
