ROUND #162 :: The BOGEYMANDESCRIPTION
Hush, hush, hush, here comes The Bogeyman!
Don’t let him come to close to you,
He’ll catch you if he can...
What does he look like? According to Wikipedia he’s a child’s embodiment of terror. It may originate in Scotland from the word Boggart, but every culture seems to have a ‘bogeyman’. What is your bogeyman. Let’s see him! No horror film characters though; Michael Myers, Freddy Krugers or hockey masks etc. But it doesn’t HAVE to be humanoid, that aspect is up to you.
Remember this is a character challenge, so shadowy hidden figures might be atmospheric, but make sure we can see him/it.
Not the Bogeyman, but posted for inspiration:
ACCEPTANCE TO POLL WILL BE BASED ON THREE CRITERIA:
1: DID THE ARTIST FOLLOW THE BRIEF? (allowance for creative takes will be made).
2: IS THE PIECE ARTISTICALLY SOUND? (Is the illustration "finished?" - did the artist pay attention to anatomy, perspective, other fundamentals?).
3: IS THIS ILLUSTRATION THE BEST ONE?
SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY:
1: You must submit ONE full sized image.
2: Make sure your name and CHOW # are EASILY READABLE on your entry.
3: Use the Standard format (Below);
PLACE THE IMAGE IN A FRAME WITH YOUR NAME/TOPIC
SAVE YOUR FILE IN THE FOLLOWING FORMAT:
THE REST IS EASY:
1: No comments before poll is set. They WILL be deleted with utmost malice and petty grumbling.
2: Sit back and enjoy the show. BYOPC (Bring your own popcorn)
3: Good luck to all.
Please review these helpful reminders if you have not done so already.
ON GETTING TO POLL
NEW ROUND RULE: WIPS PLEASE!
SUBMISSION FORMAT REMINDER
PLEASE REMEMBER TO WRITE YOUR COPYRIGHT INFORMATION UNDER THE IMAGE IN THE FINAL BURNING THREAD SO I DON'T HAVE TO HUNT YOU DOWN LATER!
Quick Check: Have You Submitted Your Chow Properly?
- is it named correctly? (ie, "CHOW#100_Oregano.jpg")
- has it been uploaded using the attachment editor?
- have you also uploaded or linked to your wips?
- have you followed the brief?

'A Porcelain Doll hovered above the bed like a mobile,
Not afraid Joel smothered with love mislead by beguile,
The Cot rolled covered with blood now dead by the vile.'
The word ‘anarchy’ comes from the ancient Greek αναρχία in which αν meant ‘without’ and αρχία meant first a military ‘leader’ and then ‘ruler’. Anarchist society is one ‘without rulers’: a classless, non-hierarchical society.

You need people like me so you can point your grubby fingers and say, "That's the bad guy.""
Finito! Thanks to everyone who commented. Really helped push it further.
Final Bogey! The clouds are a nod to a favourite artist of mine called Tor Lundvall who does spooky shapes, but I've always had a phobia for unformed faces since I saw Dr Who and the Terror of the Autons as a kid, where shop window dummies come to life!

"I don't know kara-te, but I know, ke-razy!"
didn't have time to work on this any more this week.
had quite alot of fun though, and it's one of the few times where the image in my head and the image on display are nigh identical.

Tried to make him as less of a creature and more a character.
Wish I had more time to spend on this one, but had a blast anyway!

Finished in the nick of time!
I pictured the Bogeyman as a funny and colourful character, only twisted, and my best idea within that was a circus ringmaster. At first glance he looks natural, but once you take a closer look, you realize something's horribly wrong...
