ps, i look angry when i concentrate, some peope say i look angry all the time though i dont feel like that, i blame my grandfather, i inherited his face.

Love the first one
yo, thanks pijus, ill definatley see what i can do, need to find me a model, dont we all,
thanks for checkin these out,
I love how you painted the ear and the tones on the face in the last one, great job with the glasses too, those are so hard to draw for me :< The facial hair is really good however the chin area seems wrong somehow, maybe you need to add some more finer lined hairs as well to blend it more. Just a suggestion^^I'm still learning..
hehe im at artschool atm and when people have their drawing faces on lolz its game on!... the lighting on that profile is awesome... ... keep it up man
hi, back again, it would be easier to get a fat man through the eye of a camel than to access the ghost of the t'interwebs around here so ill keep this brief, thanks to every body for comments and crits, most appreciated,
here's a self portrait i spent about 8 hrs on one nite for a challenge i saw on this forum but was'nt satisfied to post then, spent a shit load more time on it since without the mirror or the same lighting which was a big mistake and a total waste of time, postin the first version, time to move on.
thanks amianna, think you may be right bout the chin but its gona remain as is, i got me an over bite hence the beard! thats an old one, similar reason to move on for above,
polipol, thanks very much, yup we do pull some fearsome faces when trying to conquer! -new zealand rugby teams balletic pre match dance!
eat yer greens,
heres another sloppy painting..but i do like some of the modeling because i paid more attention than usual to bounced light and shadows in terms of revealing and defining forms, and also that it does'nt look too computer. what do you guys think?
ps, i aint a total narcissist, more life paintings in my sketch book, check that shit out you genii's.. back some time in the future
still searchin for a mentor..could it be you who helps me take my work to the next level?

clr study room mirror, one light far to the left, bout 50 mins.
getting my computer color calibrated by a genious at work so hopefully these wont look like a squidgy pile of dog puke any more, seen em on other maxchines, umm buh!

heh folks, just seen the awesome el coro ala prima post, ..........fuk me. nuff said.
heres my latest attempt, still got the same problem areas, structure, neck, eyes, modelling, but I learned alot with this one about saturation moving towards highlights as well as some pshop stuff like median filters and blending modes on lowered opacity.
Since its portrait month I hope to coerce some family and friends into sittin still for a change so i can address these problems.
Id be more than happy to hear advice, crits and comments. as long as its not to point out type-o's.
like you im here to learn and improve. have a good one.

Hey dude, sucks to hear that. You have a lot of experience as compared to me, who's just starting out. D: (I'm currently jobless as well.)
You can check out http://www.creativeheads.net/. There may be some jobs out there that are suitable for you. I can't leave my country just yet but if it's really hard to find a job in your country, there's no harm trying another.
Good luck with job hunting!
