well back in the day i started off a sketchbook, but as these things sometimes do, it kind of eventually died.
in the intervening time i got sucked into "work" work and its only in the last few months i've been trying to rediscover a few things - like drawing and more importantly, enjoying it. For a long time the sight of a blank page (or screen) was enough to paralyse me from the neck down...
...so here's a collection of some speedpaints, doodles and whatnot that i've done since...erm, march i think. Theyre all done purely for my own amusement and as a way to wind down from the sort of stuff i do during the day
*edit* ,moved all images to second post

The 5th Horseman
...oh and here's some sketchbook pages scanned in
some of these have already been developed further, while others are on the "to-do" list for now..

Cool pictures in here, you have a nice variety in style. My favs of this bunch would be Villain and eyetower, they've that extra je ne sais quoi, you know?
Lots of interesting shapes and ideas that stand out a bit. You do nice things with the colours you use but I think you'd be able to do even more if you varied your line width even more.
Wormhead is a favorite.
thanks for the feedback Joorin - my linework is something i am trying to work on (or dispense with entirely!)
here's a couple of speedpaints from today...
first from a topic posted on a friends forum
And this is one that just occured to me while stuck in traffic. No other explanation for it really!
wow, your art is crazy! Really well executed. I love your concepts.
Here's some stuff from the past couple of weeks - nothing like a heatwave to inspire one's delusional thoughts...
This is the finished version of "Hidden Treasure"
Some speedpaint topics
"Death and The Maiden"
"No face #1"
"No face #2" (sorry, but it just appeared in my sketchbook)
And FINALLY a whole bunch of random Sketchbook Stuff - i even WENT OUTDOORS!
And now, back to sweating, panting and heat-exhaustion.
nothing very polished to show this week, but i've been busy getting back to basics with some tutorials, theory, studies and whatnot!
So here, with very little fanfare, is this weeks batch
Some sketchbook doodles given a photoshopping
And finally, "Mya's day off"
Er, so thats if for me. Time for some R&R*
*edit* forgot to add i finished up one of last week's speedpaints

haha lots of funny and wicked ideas!
I really enjoy the eyetower guy and your newest "no face" piece.
great rendering. and show some more of your traditional sketches, that stuff you did in the park looks nice!
Hehe, looked really good, but that last one was a direct "save target as...(to my collection of great art found of internet folder)" picture! And that's very good!
Like the humor!

wow! i think that might be the first time i've been put in a reference folder. I should break out the champagne thanks!
So in the spirit of "internation portrait month" i thought i'd contribute something.
rendering it "old-school" with just paper, a pencil, a mirror and MY FACE would be more of a challenge than my usual photoshop based workflow
i spent an hour or so on this, there was only diffuse window lighting so the lack of strong modeling light was a bit of a hindrance.
i hope i can do a lot better than this in the future - must keep practicing!
So here's what i've been doing with myself this week...
"Vampire Hunter" - Speedpaint that took about 30 minutes
An illustration for a newsletter at work. Can't show it all yet, but here's the tiniest most miniscule sneek-peek
And finally, i got a fairly small (7inch) bust off ebay to do some studies with - and thats exactly what i ended up doing. A couple of hours and some graphite ended up producing this.
