Hi, so I have a question, I hope this was the right place to put it . Recently I was introduced to a website where you could draw gestures off of pictures of people posing. I was wondering if this is beneficial or if it would hinder me in some way. I'm also going to life drawing once a week.
no its fine, life drawing is better though and will help you to see form better.stay away from sites like posemaniacs though that have bad 3d models. Posemaniacs is okay, if you know how to draw and need something in a pinch because you know how to correct for its flaws but bad if you're learning to draw.
Thanks so much for answering! I wasn't sure if anyone would haha. I'm using pixelovely, it's great . I won't be scared to continue using it then
Don't be scared, using pictures for reference can really help. Of course it might be better to have the thing / person in front of you, but it's really great that we have access to so many pictures online. It's definitely recommended to use picture reference instead of imagination, so that you can analyze the shapes and structure of what you're drawing instead of guessing.
