I'm enjoying your studies.
Stop improving like this, you're scaring me
weeeee, this is a fun thread to return to.
Keep it up mate
Your studies are scaring me Nofish. I remember when you use to post your art on the mIRC chat. You've grown immensely compared to that time. Just keep it up dude.
"Do the best that you wanna do." -My personal quote.
Sketchbook Thread. Look at it, rate it, post and crit on it.
Hi there man!!
I can always spare a good kick in the butt for ya my friend he he,
First than anything your are the one that puts my sorry efforts
to shame man, really Im aways been amazed of your deep well crafted
anatomy studies, I kinda stopped doing em becase I got a little feed
up of them but I gonna start doing them again in short time with
renew motivation after all the imagination doodles Iv been doing lately.
Now about the last updates, the generation of volume throught the
modeling of light is really looking good, I looked throguth your entire thread
and the conclusion Im getting is that imo your doing the rights things
I mean, I can see your analize body dinamics on some studies and on others
you focus on learing atach points of muscles and overall canon proporcions,
and you seem to be incorporating this knowlege more and more on your
imagination doodles, the thing that bothers me the most, is that some times
you seem to forget that you need to add small twists and turns in oposite
directions on the pelvis vrs the thoracic cage, and that is essecial to give
a natural feell to the stances of you imagination caracters,
take this one for example:
now imagine him with a sligt inclination on the shoulders (one up the other
sligthy down) , mixed with a small inclination of the head in an oposite
direction, even in still pin-up posses you need to find this small forces of
tension that give the breath of life that we all want to put in out caracters,
Im not saying that I know how to do this well tho, mainly this are the same
things I keep repeting to my self, this is one of the things in wich I think I
have the most problems as well, Im also repeating the things I read form
Marko´s threads, reading his replies is one good way to gather new info:
this camed form this thread:Originally Posted by Marko Djurdjevic

You know finding a good a dinamic balance even in still poses is a must to
portrait a caracter correctly and lively, check out Marko´s stuff and Steak´s
stuff too they both have this amazing understanding of all this little
Overall I really dig you drawings and I can see you have tons of raw
observation skill that only need a bit more finesse to jump onto the
next level, really I resort to you thread more than you might think,
when Im out of inspiration or drive I check out your efforts and
I feel like a lazy slacker, and then I start drawing again
Keep it up!! ill be egearly awating for the next update man, so hurry up
do sum more doodless asap and post em would ya!!!

wow amazing shading and great creativity
love all the crazy work, keep it comming
Thought I'd give this thread a little bump. This is a life study of my sister. I was a little hard on the shadows and the renderings aren't completely finnished. Won't continue to work on it tho..
Pesmerga: Thanks, I won't!
Crash: Thanks man, I will!
Daunting: Heym thanx for bumping in! I'm glad my progress shows.
Maxetormer: Thank you for the long reply dude!! More a pat on the back than a kick in the butt, but yay, you made my day! I'll take averything you said in to account. My next bunch of anatomy studies will be focused towards the pelvis, the legs and the distribution of wheight. If I can learn this without life models, I will consider myself a god. (j/k hehe )
Looks good, love your avatar
Self-improvement is masturbation, Self-destruction on the other hand....
Hehe, Calle, I love that movie too.
This one took some time. I was satisfied with it and wanted to wait and post this once I had added more content. Then I decided to flip it in PS and realized that the faces were all scewed. Funny how things that what seems like a breakthrough, mostly serves as a reminder of your lacking grasp on the basics. I think I'll consider it done and move on.
Really nice updates, especially the profil on the previous update. Look.. Thanks for the input in my SB, it help alot. You'r very welcome to give me more advices in the future.
Keep it up, man!
/Tiger, who allso loves Fight club.
I went through your sketches thought I should give some feedback since Im here...very inspirational and interesting to see your progress I personally liked the shaded images I mean those you were playing more with shadows
look I dont know why I love you I just do
totally enjoying this thread --kepp on at it! like your female figures.
nothing is good - nothing is bad -- osho
(all is well)
Omni 1's scribbles/doodles >>HERE NOW<<
I'm frustrated as hell with this one. It's supposed to be a redesign of Nike's drawing in the scetch trade thread. It's all overworked, the arm is wonky, I suck at drawing hands and the helmet design is sort of ridicioulus...I have done a colour rough with my mouse as well, but I think I'll post it in the Critique senter. I'm sort of tempted to start all over again and add some improvements to the design. Tell me what you think!
First off.. I want to tell you how great your sketch thread is progressiing.. Very nicely... I also want to give you some praise on the artistic jumo from page 2 to page 3... Yuo started to add some very dynamic darks in the third page that are making your character portraits pop right out off the fucking page... really great prgression.. probably one the best Ive seen on these threads from one page to another.. keep up the great work... Just a side note... the one thing that I noticed is the hair on most of the characters are almost all the same... I would suggest getting some fotos of great hairdos.. maybe some fashion ones... they usually have some really funky shit that would share the likeliness of your drawings... keep it up..
Mainloop- man i must be dyslexic.. cuz i thought you asked how many people are on lsd
vigostar, thanx for the kind words And yup, youre very right about the hairstyles. Gotta do some more ref drawings and work on some other stuff, like expression and ...--!"CHARACTER"!---... (Add sparcling 3d effect to that last word).
Oh well, thanks again, and as stated, more later..
Man, This is some awesome studies. Where did you get your references?
Keep it up.
Yo dude Im really tired is like 3:31am here, I just wanted to stop by to give
you some mad props, your shading is really nice, and its getting stronger by
the minute, hang in there man, and keep on the studies up, they are
paying off greatly
about your warrior sketch heres it is and over paint to show you whan
I belive is missing on your bodies:
When I have trouble to make a posse work I oftern draw a full body structure
even if I only want to use a part of it rember to curve the spine of your
caracters and remeber that the lower masses of the body go in inverse
oppsition to the upper ones, that is if the arms are leaning towards the left
the pelvies should lean toward the rigth, well heres the overp I hope I help
you out to some degree, this are the same things I struggle with so I
probably have various mistakes
Keep on studing and experimenting, and never give up,
I really like the way you handle your lines and you imagiation
is top noch, see ya later, Im falling sleep on the key board.

Gawd! Thanks for the stars! It's been a while since last update and I kinda lost my groowe for a while. It's back now and even though I'm off to the dentist early tomorrow, I really don't want to go to bed. (Draw draw draw)
Here is a cuple of work in progress and some collected scraps. Crits are apreciated, as allways. The lady at the top and bottom is drawn without ref. Took a while to figure things out hehe.
Wow, awsome Digitals, or atleast beginnings and sketches of some.
I really like the guy in the middle who looks incredibly stupid... or not.
I'll come visit again soon!
Draw, draw, draw!!
I'm sorry for the lousy update. The picture has several flaws and the drawing itself is NOT final. I like how the colours are turning out, tho. I'm probably gonna redraw it tomorrow...won't be as difficult at the 2nd go. Gotta fix the proportions, give her a face, some cloths and spend an awful lot of time noodling her hands down correctly. It's gonna be fun. Don't think I'll finnish it tomorrow, tho, but who knows? blah blah blah, here goes...

Decided to continue working on this one instead. Wanted to practice some colours, not depenting too much on the pencil lines. I guess the contrast could be upped a little and the palette is starting to feel a little boring. (The greens!!) Figuring out the hands is going to be a nightmare...
Feedback is allways welcome
I like your color-choices, man!
Get those hands in there! I'm doing handstudies myself now..gonna post 'em soon.
Oh.. and your faces are awesome! I like the way you make 'em emote
Keep 'em coming!
wow this is good stuff. it's funny to see the same anatomy sketches in almost every SB but hey keep it up.. the shadings are really nice. you're getting there my friend. whatever u do just don't stop drawing.
currently playing: Kuhlau, Bach, Beethoven
Le Order Nouveau!
The horse ain't perfect, but it's fun to study different stuff, so it definately won't be the last. Been slacking off lately, doing ALOT of non ref crap, and well, my limitations are starting to bother me, so back to studiyng and improving. (Study hands, you f*cker!!!!1!!1)
Sorry, I'll reply later. It's 06:30 in the morning and I'm off to work tomorrow.
Sweet stuff. keep it up
holy fuck man! That last study is radical! Something really wierd 'bout the horse's head tho, like it's maby a wee bit to big. But I don't know..
Anyway, keep it up, as long as your drawing I don't care what it is!
neoknocker: References? What pictures were you thinking of? I usually find them in movies, magazines, google, newspapers, life, what-not.
maxetormer: Thanks alot for your support. The many replies in this thread has brought a smile on my face more than once. Thanks alot for the paint over. It made me realise a great deal of stuff. I should plan my pictures better from now on. Heh, I'd love to meet you in Prague, but I have been short of money for the last...six months? Well, If you are going to Montreal and I can manage to make it there (If nothing works out, I'll have to make a loan), we can meet ut and kick each others asses
Tigermilk: Same goes for you Thanks for your support! Yea, pepole seem to like that "incredible stupid looking guy". Mabye I'll finnish it? Probably no..
draw: THANK YOU!!
dCept: Hey, dude. How was Prague? Did it suck? I certanly hope so. Fucker...
Soooo...you like my faeces, huh? And the way they emote? Well, um, good for you then...(ok I'll stop now. )
Mr.Point: Yea, those studies can quickly become repititive. Blame the trend on Metalwinds, hehe.
Tigermilk: Thanks again. Well, the horses trunk is out of proportion as well. Or mabye it's just the head? Whatever..
Here is a crude sp i did recently. Eyes are uneven, but its the best i have done yet, as far as likeness goes. It's pretty fun to colour my scetches.
