Dude, the medieval character on page 7 is rad. The loose quality of the sketches are badass. Try to keep that in your finishes. Its probably what I struggle with most in my commercial work. Although these are all digi, this guy really keeps a nice looseness in his work. Ive watched him work and he literally forces himself to only take ten minutes in each stage of the painting. like: sketch, value, tone, and then render out the rest.

Haha, I love those caricatures! The woman, especially, has a lot of character.
Did you use refs for these last two? And I'm guessing the first of those is digital, while the second one is traditional and digital? Just curious. Anyway, I think they look great! The poses and weapons are very realistic.
i didnt use ref for these, i think some parts of them are kinda sloppy and show that, and they are both originally sketches i posted here. the 1st one looks more digital bc ive been fooling with it more, where as the 2nd one is mostly the character colored
Nice update! Great color palette on the rocket launcher one. The figure could be in sharper focus though, with crisp edges the same way you've done his foot. Awesome job on the second guy's face (the guy with the red hat).
Man, your work is awesome!!!!
It is so difficult to find someone who likes modern war artwork. I think this an awesome subject like WW2 as well. Great colors in the illustrations!!!
I loved the realistic drawing of the sexy blonde (the last pencil drawing you posted). Looks very confident and precise.
Awesome stuff! I have a couple suggestions for post # 225.
The guy on the left - his head is pretty much chopped right in half by the picture frame. I would suggest either adding a bit more to that side of the composition, or cropping it a little so that he's not bisected.
Decrease the glow from the end of the gun, darken the forest, and add some sunlight filtering down to spotlight the enemy soldier. Right now the composition seems divided in half, and I think that might help.
Hey, g*ddamn you draw a lot. The new one you're coloring looks awesome so far. I really think you shouldn't crop the top off though- that was one of the things I liked about the composition. If the camo is taking too long, you might want to try finishing one section of it and then making a stamp out of it or using the clone tool.
Watch out with the highlights on Nosferatu's hands... Right now the edges of the highlights are very sharp and so that texture is reading more like metal than skin. Also I'm not sure the folds over his midsection make sense. That dude is friggin creepy though. He reminds me of the Lost Highway guy.
thanks burial, actually i didnt decide to permanently crop off the top, its just the majority of what i had changed was in the 3 guys, and ya im not finished with nos phat'z hands, i never saw lost highway, i think my brother told me about that character tho... heard that show was really weird
Real cool stuff! Great expression in the faces. Joe Jackson illustration is sweet!
The overall trend here is quite good. Have you ever seen the work of Tom Lea? I understand he was kind of forced to work the way you seem to when he did his Peleliu paintings. While he was on the island he was too busy staying alive for art. Then he sketched like a madman when he got back to the ship, and then converted the sketches to oils when he got home.
I think if you work to tighten up you will be able to evoke the same kind of feeling of being there that he could do.
ya i agree with u , i should finish some stuff. i get kinda bored and cant finalize nething. thx arttorney i never heard of him bfore, he was good, and real.. i was on vacation for a while, ill post some sketches n stuff tomorrow but heres just some quick painting i did when i was really tired, still am, kinda silly its a robot wife or something
You have got some really great military drawings and sketches here! i love all of the varying expressions on the faces of the people. You get a lot of personality into your drawings. I love your drawings, but I feel that in the paintings, it looks like you're unsure if you want to rely on the lines, or paint over them. I think some higher opacity and more use of values and darker shadows wouldn't hurt at all. Keep up the sketchbook! Great so far!

If you want follow up critique/comments, feel free to send me a PM or post on a thread of mine! I might not realize you need it, otherwise.
Thanks for stoping by in my SB.
You got nice sketches here, definetly agree with Maralynn - nice expressions on faces in all your sketches.
In my opinion this sketch could be developed to a nice painting
