Hamilton, the main character of my story. He is an expert of Eskrima, martial art with two saber sticks. He holds the spiritual guardian of Hephaestus, the fire god of ancient Greeks. Together they form a very powerful formation of battle combo against all enemies.
stop drawing anime!
I really like the poses and the colours for a simple character illustration. But for Hephaistos I would either go for a very spectral colouring, so also more transparent or for a solid fire phantom. Either way I would make him interact more with teh mian character. He could be emerging from him or some other effect!
I do like the flame effect, but I can't help but find the feet a tid bit too large
The contrasting color scheme of the two characters works well. You've got some anatomy quirks on both, though, such as small hands, slightly overlong forearms, and wonky shoulder construction. I think Hamilton's pose would be better with the foreground rod lashed out, to add energy. Hephaestus' pose is an example of this with the hammer, and a mirrored effect with Hamilton would strengthen the theme.
Kiera, Janos, Greek Pantheon and Tangleworm, thanks for giving praises as well as comments for me to improve my art work.
I am still improving my anatomy drawing, so this work is an improvement from my previous work, The Joker's party. I will keep emphasizing on my anatomy weak point when drawing new illustration and also the colouring
As for riceface, I am certainly you are complimenting me. I had a look at your portfolio, at a certain I am sure you are a fan of anime as me. I am learning to blend some anime styling to concept art character, as well as some more traditional stlying for background drawing also.
Lets keep on going, Gambate!
The back leg on Hephesto looks weird compared to the hips, but the idea is nice

The Spaniard's Sketchbook... No holds barred
Hi hi -
I'm also a fan of the coloring scheme - very nice! The main thing that's bugging me about Hephaestus is that his arms seem way too far back, and they don't play nicely with his shoulder blades and torso. When I quickly glance at it, his back almost looks like it ought to be the front of his chest. I can try to do a redline when I get home from work if you'd like (unless someone else beats me to it!).
Also, a quick question - are you basing you version of Hephaestus off of the description of him in Greek myth (gimped leg and all), or are you reimagining it to suit your world?
Ya man I knew about the Hephaestus description in Greek Mythology, but since I decided to have a more Bishonen style to the characters so I illustrated them in a beautiful way.
That being said, I think maybe Haphaestus needs just a little more bulk on him, being a smith who dual wields hammers. Not a ton, keeping in mind the Bishonen style, but just a smidge here and there, maybe? I'm trying to think of an example, but my mind seems to have shorted out.
No worries man, this is my first inspirational art on the main characters. I will certainly explore more designs further later.
Thanks for the suggestions by the way
