Hello out there
My name is Janina. I'm new at drawing, 18 years old and from Germany (so please bear my bad english ;_; ).
So here is my first tablet sketch and it is not finished as you can see. .__.
I hope I'm going to be better with your advices and crits ^.^
Thank you so far
You,ve done quite goood so far but i would suggest studying anatomy, give us some daily anatomy studies,
stick to it and you'll improve in no time!
The Hogarth and Loomis Anatomy Books are great to study
go to this thread
it offers you a lot of opportunities to download free e-books
Welcome to CA, Janina!
I guess you'll learn a lot here. Some people say this forum taught them more than their whole time in college.
Check out all the subforums in here.. there's lots of useful stuff to discover.
The Crit-Forum for instance. Post your stuff there and you'll get really good advices!
Anyway, your girl looks good so far. But really try to get away from mangastyle (too big eyes and stuff). I mean.. it's not so bad at all, but it's hard to change to realism later, when you're used to it. Maybe try to set clearer strokes and avoid scribbling.. i know it's hard to draw a harmonious and defined body when you're not trained. Of course you can use reference.. anyway that's a good way to get your eye used to proportions and anatomy.
I'll keep'n eye on your sketchbook.
Gogogo - Draw!! ;D
First I want to thank you for the first comments
The last days I wasn't motivated enough to draw, but I found some eyes which I drew one or two weeks ago. I hope they are more realistic and not like manga-eyes. I also tried not to scribble all the time. I Hope it's okay that way! :]
Good evening all,
thank you Aeromax for your comment
You're right, the one at the bottom is too open, maybe she is shocked xD
I thought about my first tablet sketch and wanted to concentrate on the face only. Maybe I'll draw her a body later.
But I think there is something wrong with her throat (is it the right word to express it in "drawing-speech"? o.O). It doesn't fit, does it? What do you think? Where's the mistake?
I hope you can help me I'm looking forward to your answers.
Hello out there!
Here again are some studies I did the last time, sorry for the bad quality >.<
I hope I'm on the right way
Big difference between your first and last image Keep drawing you have CA community support
Please bear my english also
I think in terms of the throat problem, it may be the way the chin is rendered. It really makes it looks like they have two chins with a large dint in the middle.
Other than that, it's really good, keep at it
Have a look at my sketchbook.
would someone tell this lazy bum how important it is to upload her stuff on CA.org D: tired of trying to convince her D: !!!
Hello and a big sorry,
I know I was a long time inactive. But Hygami tried to convince me once more to be more active.
Since my last post I've tried to scribble by myself, and I've fallen back to the manga style. But now I'm trying to go back to "real life" things.
Here is one of my newest things. Please ignore her face, it's horrible! I don't like it anymore xD And, please, ignore that helpless coloration. (I still don't know how to draw her hair and the path >_>) Well, I've tried, that counts, right? I like the cape very much the rest is... bad.. just ignore it, please xD But would you mind to crit the anatomy of her body? Apart from that her head is too big..
