für 2 stunden is das ziemlich gut...andrerseits kann ich environments ja ziemlich schlecht, also isses automatisch für mich besser...
Love your approach to colouring but even more so your black and white work.
It feels like you work it all up from white, like how you would do a drawing. Building up blacks and darks all the time.
Its really nice stuff. Im enjoying the monkey king a lot.
The only thing Id say, is I like how in the sketches, it looks like he had sort of monkey skullls/faces on his shoulders. But now its a ram. Rams are used so much, a monkey is pretty interesting. Or another really interesting animal, maybe a chinese animal.
Keep it up!
i love this pageBillion, Gorgonzola thanks guys!
Abrodos thank you man, yeah i need to play around with that stump some more as it bugs me aswell.
Angel Intheuk thank you . ill look into that, thanks for pointing it out.
Metal Fingers thank you for your nice words. youre right i definitely need some perspective training atm. thank you.
heres some foolish stuff from yesterday night. might look like crap but i had a blast drawing .
xinranliu, knut-, Fetsch, adamh, dhilipsomesh thank you guys
Jason Scanlon hey its ok man, you did it now . thank you^^
Carnifex thank you. well could be, did think of the dragon siegfried killed in "die nibelungen" *shrug*
PHATandy thank you man! basically im ruffing everything in with black (opacity and size on pressure) and then going lighter and darker from there where needed. i hope its more obvious in the update its supposed to be no ram but a dragon skull >.<, tell me if its (remotely) working. thank you again.
heres the update, tell me what you think
Wow! your last drawing looks really nice... i hope that you add it a background for it.. and dont leave it for the last moment! remember that it should be reflected in the armor of your character!
Keep on working!
thank you InCOUM. no im not going to add a background. to be honest i dont like the tendency that everything has to be an "illustration" (as in the difference between conceptart and illustration, at least for me there is one). its "just" a character concept . at least im not only doing white backgrounds anymore ^^.
Hey man, its looks good. I know its only a small detail, its not that important. BuT I think the confusion is lying in the nose of the skull. Its very flat and pointy. Like a ram skull, with those little loops at the nose. I always imagined a dragon skull would have more of a T-rex/dinasour kind of skull , like that, so the nose is steeper at the front. Maybe if it stretched to the bottom of the shoulder plate and had the big teeth down over the bottom.
I mean I suppose its just what you want your dragon to look like really! Its an interesting concept to think about though, assuming a dragon is based on some real animals in the world, where would its base structure come from?
Anyways, keep up the excellent work.
great work, really love your gestural stuff. the line drawings have a lot of energy, they're very expressive!
you seem to lose quite a bit of intensity from your line drawings to your finished coloured pieces tho, maybe there's something in your process where you don't focus on keeping that energy alive?
would be interesting to see a step-by-step of a finished character
really like your gestures in graphite and the page of gestures with the ( i think) "bo derek" /farrah fawcett drawing! good stuff ! - Kevin
