Right on slumberus, we assimilate sketchers into our group like Borg.
11 months is quite a long time. You could and probably should make a New Thread in this section and see if there's other CA arters in your area.
I personally would love to see an update on your sb.
George, zen (the Akita) and I are out tomorrow guys. I've come down with food poisoning, and George is getting a kitten today, so she wants to make sure it settles in okay.
Ed you're in charge of rallying the troops! Post you sketches too, I wanna see what I missed.
See y'all next week for sure!
-Mum's food poisoning steps I sent in that message. Take care of that tummy mate.
-I'm going to be limping you guys, so don't laugh, my destination to destination will be a snail pace but I'll always catch up.
WHO's up for FED Square/Yarra/Flinders? - the morning art market is always delish, the baked goods, hmmmm, oh and the arts and craft etc. etc.
Else, GPO steps (Crn Bourke/Elizabeth) is always the rallying point.
Reach me at @ 0432 563 670 and ask for 'The Burrito' or 'Ed' if you prefer. =)
(just doing my emails - i should be out about ... now)
GPO 11am, yeppers on this fine chilly/it's going to be warm weather.
It's going to be depleted today.
-No Knox or Gina
-Luke is at the front (Ballarat)
-Ken's under a pile of work.
That's 2 people, you and I included. o.0
Reach me at 0432 563 670 if you're still up for.
Personally, I really have to test my foot out. Still with a limp but fark it, it's all in the mind.
thx dwardo, there was once a sketch group in Malaysia few years back, but it died down. But have classmates to motivate each other with.
how high so far did the melbourne summer peaked lately? 42 again?
somewhat updated my 'sketchbook' with just one recent work atm.
keep the sketchgroup strong mates.
I think we got up to 44-46°. My big ears reached 50°C and I hate bum sweat on train and tram seats. I always stand, always.
Quieter this past Sunday with Esz, Mark, Mike and me-self.
(check de blog for pics ... i can't figure out Photobucket's auto-compress shenanigan)
Heads up: Motion studies/skaters.
On Australia Day (Tuesday, tomorrow): Flinders/Yarra/Rowers club houses skate ramps will be holding a day long competition for skaters.
Prize money $1000. Starts at 11am, but the main comp is around 12-1pm ...
I might drop in on it and do motion studies as I chew on something:
Mob @: 0432 563 670 and ask for 'War' Machine or 'Ed' if you prefer.
happy belated Australian day to all you Melbournians and Ozzies out there!
-Cheers Chris (Happy Aussie day too man - Once an Aussie always an Aussie)
-I'm out for this Sunday and most likely the next two - I give in to healing my toe.
Last Sunday was cool (Hi Esz ^^) and I wasn't feeling much pain, but my toe has gone
worse day by day throughout the past week. I'm back to square one in terms of pain, yay.
-Botanical Gardens is a nice roaming place also. Shade shade shade.
-Sunscreen, aqua and cool cool hat.
Cool Dwardo ^^ Hmm.. I'm not sure about the oil paints.. they're so damn messy. I used turps when I did those large paintings.. I don't think I have many braincells left after inhaling all that (not many to begin with either) haha. Maybe one day..
Oh he does? Uh I haven't really been following the open D:
to bad you didnt make it ed, hope you show up soon.
I though the nickname was cool, when i was 14..... so shut up knoxie !!!
its to late to change now anyway!
i also used to watch this as a kid, i swear ive had dreams about the cave in it, this is actually really awesome
Superman - The Mechanical Monsters
Elissimo: Nah, neither have I. I just knew Federer would win 'cause as he
walked out to centre court he fixed his bangs pretty cooly. Like a man who's about to win a grand slam. It was then, that I opened my mouth and inhaled a muffin.
"not many to begin with" ^^ you. silly. sausage. edit: those oils are insane, I'd like to one day even come close to that quality.
Mark: Heh, you know stormrider, there's a thread somewhere where emilyg can change the username for you - Everytime I read stormrider I get a picture of Gohan on a cloud.
Knox: oh shoot, sorry Carl, if you need the perspective book asap, I can get my
brother (Vin) to drop it off where ever you needs.
And I read you on the movie man, that's one for comedy marathon nights. Next to all
the Van Damme movies. xD
Esz: I hope you don't get too drained after this Team CHOW. ^^ You two are doing great.
Sending creative waves for yours and Freddy's finish.
Coming Sunday looks to be sweet as. 27°C Hmmm!
Yay! Looking forward to tomorrow who else is going? I hear there is a complementary Akita to pat?
So 11am at the GPO? I think I need a contact number if Ed isn't showing up... I don't want to approach the wrong group of people lol
dwardo: Haha fair observation, or he could just be full of himself. Turns out you were right though... ooo what flavor was the victory muffin?
Don't doubt your oil painting abilities, everyone at CA knows you can get anywhere with practice
... have a sweet sketchin today everyone. See y'all next time around. x)
Eliss: Chocolate chip (my mouth is open to all flavours, though) and I'm giving oils a go, so far so horrible. xP
Laters. Knox, Georgina, Eszter, Mark, Mike, Kenneth, (shout out to Luke), Robyn - MIA again?
Ashlyn may rock up.
Tracy G if she comes with Ken.

Oh maaaan I want to come along to one of these so badly, but I work on weekends :/ I'm trying to arrange to have one Sunday off every fortnight though, so shooould be able to make it.. eventually.
Btw. Would anyone be interested in going to some life drawing sessions? Or does anyone know where I could find some good life drawing sessions in Melb.?? I know there's Dr. Sketchy's, but would love a "traditional" one too
umm Kenith knows and went to some life drawing classes at some uni their really cheap aswell like 12-18 dollars for like an hour , only prob is like their night classes and i dont want to get stabbed on the way home from them lol. ask carl to track down kenith if you want the details, id be willing to go to some day ones if im free though.
Also had an idea to make sketchgroup more intense like maybe who can grab the most geastures in 5 mins or something, some to make it more challenging, help fill those pages.
oh and ed why would i want to change my avatar name,
who here has their own theme song?.......oh thats right NO ONE!!!!!
Knox: A skier ... voooop... say no more. I bet he had a fabulous tan, whereas mine
is all patchy and shit. That lucky, sexy French accented basterd. ^^
Kroevyn: All I know is ANZ (Brunswick) do portraiture for an arm and
a kidney ($30-3hrs). I need help getting likeness of faces.
But I'm up for doing life also. Gahhh, I need help for everything. ^^
stormrider85: I don't have a theme track and yes, yes I am jealous.
My humble apologies. *bow*
5 minutes gestures ... with a medium we aren't comfortable using.
(Double the learning curve )
*Sends dropkicks to Elise for not having Loomis already.
Kroevyn: I've been to a couple of life drawing sessions around melb. They are all faily standard... around $15 p/h untutored. There is one in st kilda, fitzroy, and caulfield too. I'm sure there are plenty more. Hit up your local art supply store. They always know of the nearest naked person in your area.
mark: I'll take you up on that gesturals challenge. Although you might want to bring tissues with you... for crying into when you lose obviously.
Ed: You can only smack talk if you show up to sketch group! See you guys soon.
That was good fun. Now I have to add gesturals to the list of things I need to learn how to do >.>
Thanks knox that is awesome! *joy* Hey I don't know if you've already considered it but I was thinking you should make latex moulds of the plasticine nose and ear you made to preserve them and keep for reference? I think it's only $20 a litre and plaster of paris isn't that expensive?
Mark that's a good idea. It might be cool if we had some kind of take home activity as well to show at the next meet? I dunno :3
I may be stating the obvious but have you guys checked this listing for life drawing classes? It lists dates, locations and costs http://www.melbournelifedrawing.com/...ory/table.html I'm thinking of going to some once I have my life a little more organised.
This is what we should be aiming for with the gesturals:
Hey guys! As a special treat this weekend I've organised the entire melbourne chinese community to perform celebration of their culture throughout the city!
There will be music, costumes, fire crackers, and a giant dragon carried through town just for us!!!! That's right peeps!
So we'll meet at the usual spot at 11, and then head on up to Russel st from there. call me on 0408 409 909 if you are late or can't find us, but I can't promise I'll answer due to the firecrackers going off every 10 mins!
