awesome works! full of imagination
Raiderukkus Thanks for stopping by.
Okay, the last couple of weeks I've been working on a board game. This is an assignment I have to complete for my college enrollment. If they like it, I'm in.
So let's hope for the best.
I thought I'd show what I have done, first some sketches and finally a crappy collage of the end result. Used my small scanner so it's not perfect.
The goal of the game is to kill the dragon at the end. And during the game you'll get better weapons/shields/outfits. Which u can see at the corners.
Everything was done with markers and ink.
It looks really inspiring, If you need test players, gif me a call
saw your monkey sketches in here monkeys are great!
keep going with life studies
Leon Roe Thanks for stopping by, and your kind words.
Kristo Novo Hi Kristo. This update is for you, never thought of those sketches until u mentioned em. This is a picture of the finished painting I did, the sketches were preparation. It's done on a board of the ceiling in one of our classrooms at school.
Pay close attention to the hands of the top right monkey. I'm retarded.
I suck at painting, but it was fun to do.
Thought I'd post some digital stuff.
The first is a sketch of a little red riding hood story I'm starting with a friend. We're going to twist the story a bit, if it happens.
The second is a portrait of a great man named Kevin Smith.
Then there's Jimi.
Some poor little girl, it was a cool facial expression that I couldnt pass up to copy.
And the Joker, the card is not the original card that is shown in the poster.
Comments and crits welcomed.
hey wicked updates kevin an jimi RRROOOCCCKKKKKKKKKKK
hope you dont mind i did a PO cause im not so good at explaining things lol' i moved the beasty guy so hes look'n in to the pick an i darken'd the corners with a quick gradient tool ah an i also cut the guys on our right an put em' on our left to keep the viewer in the pick i think one or two colors would help keep it simple yet effective depending on the mood you wanted to set a second color might help add to the form an this is just a quick idea i didnt want to take it over but i would just throw on another layer an have fun w/ it keep in mind i just slaped this toghether in order to help give some ideas
Grandmassa Mr. Spect Thnx for pointing out the compositional issues with the placement, I'm not sure about the glowing thing. I've tried a couple of different effects, but it's not quite there. I'll just keep trying ^^.
Rogerb Thnx for stopping by, and I'm glad u like the joker. I'm trying to get into the HKU, it's a school that has a Game Art section. Which is awesome imo.
Here are some more pages from my sketchbook, not chronological.
De beelden van Kevin Smith en Jimi zijn ongelofelijk! Hoe lang heb je gewerkt voor die beelden?
it's a real improvement! your paintings are very impressive!
yeha, i´m loving the monkeys - thx for passing by again and keep going my friend
Holy shit, your latest updates are awesome!
Smeg Head Thanks
Another random doodle. Damn I can never push myself to finish anything .
I'm trying to achieve the effect of keeping the background out of focus as if the person is slowly losing consciousness. But I'm just starting the rendering that's why it doesn't look that way yet ^^. Although I doubt I'll achieve the right effect anyways.
LF some crits!
Just keep on truckin.
Some ideas for a different design for the devil thingy, I don't like his head.
And a portrait of Loveandasandwich, it's not completely right, the face is too wide. But I'm too lazy to go back and fix things.

cool updates - keep going
I think your brushwork is gettin better.
maybe look at refs to work out
some interiour or character details
Hey that's pretty neat. I like the board game like concept. If you scan it or do it digitally you can have it printed on a foam core and play on top.

Kristo Novo Thnx
Pigeonkill Thanks, it is currently made on cardboard, but making it magnetic was too much work to do that all over on a different medium ^^
Tiny update, I tried to do a color study. But it sucks, damn hard when u do it with 100% opacity shit.
I'm currently working on an A-team tribute painting at school. I'll try to get some photo's of that on here soon. And perhaps I should start scanning in my sketchbook pages.
Me thinks this book is cool.
Looks great!! Good job on the creatures.
DStraX You should see my dreams ^^ Thanks for stopping by.
JailHouseRock2 Me likes to hear that
mike butkus Thanks! I'm trying to doodle more in photoshop, I usually do these kinda creatures in my real life sketchbooks. But since I see all the magic people are producing in photoshop. I'm trying to force myself to go digital more often.
The first is another color study, need to keep this crap up if I'm ever going to get anywhere with colors ^^.
And some vampire kid, I used a cool reference photo I found for some general guidelines for the face.
Would love some comments!
The vampire one reminds of Eskimos. They eat raw meat from a fresh hunt with their bare hands on top of some newspapers. The children at young age know how to use a knife. It's almost surreal watching it on TV. The whole family would be covered in blood smiling as they ate. Now that's family time.
