That's it for today. Can drawing be addicting or what?

Thanks for the comment in my sketchbook.
I don't like the faces you draw, all the features (eyes, mouths) look like they are 2d flat cutouts glued to the face. Also you make some basic mistakes of drawing the eye too close to the nose when in profile (take a look on real people - the eye ends approximately when the mouth starts!) You have much energy, so now apply lots of practice to it and you'll get good.
I've struggled with the same flatness of what I drew and if there's one piece of advice that changed everything is that you should commit to doodling in 3D only. That is, whenever you're bored and are doodling, try not to draw pretty spirals or cartoon faces, but instead draw cones, cubes, cylinders (I tend to arrange them into crazy robots floating in space, but that's just me, all overlaping each other, emerging one from another etc.
Hey man, its good to se someone work this hard
Do more anatomy study, loomis, bridgman all that sort of stuff
Draw gestures and poses from photos and posemaniacs.
Dont let anyting stop you from reaching you goals man! U GOT IT IN YOU!
Just work hard!
a lot of the faces are off in-terms of perspectives, i think trying to describe forms in 3 dimensions, drawings simple shapes and trying to present them in a 3 dimensional manner would help tremendously, you would be able to develop skill by knowing how your reference lines wrap or skew in perspective!
thanks for dropiing by
Beautiful sketchbook!! Your drawings have really inspired me to work harder, but to have fun at the same time your digital portraits are especially captivating, despite the slight lack of anatomical accuracy. What do you plan on doing with your art? Keeping it as a hobby?
tmth - Thanks so much for your advice! Feels good to be taken seriously.
rogerb - YES! *Does push ups* ... wait - wrong training scene.
Zenichi - I'm gonna try that - thanks for the advice!
izy17 - Then I hope to see your sketchbook around here soon! I don't have any plans, really. Maybe I'll consider upgrading it from hobby to obsession.
Stayed away from digital a while because I felt too insecure about pretty basic issues.
