Wow, moving to Spain!? Like for good or what? =)
Re the Iphone girl =) Mmm, her left arm, would maybe suggest a bit of hollow between the arms there. Right arm feels a bit stiff maybe.. I quite like her face, think she's pretty good in that department =) The little circlet could maybe be placed slightly different, not sure about it tbh. In general tho, it's looking fantastic! =) Sweet work! =) Keep up the awesome! =)
so i finally had time to have a proper look through; alex the improvement here is absolutely sick. its very exciting! imagfine what youll be doing in 5 years... damn!

this is an old card I did for legend of 5 rings, just got released, had some horses in it but i removed them hehe they sucked!
sketches/speeds/ideas from today, next few days I must to "real" work booooo
That 5 rings enviro has sooo much atmosphere! I'm digging it!
The morning/afternoon/evening sketches fit those times of day for me...epsecially now that it's beginning to cool off here in the oven I call home!!
All are really perfect color wise and mood!
I'd love to see you take all of them to the next level!
Ciao fer now
Thanks for stoping by my sketchbook! Yours is quite a joy to look at and inspiring! So double the thanks!! Keep it up so ill have more to look forward too on my next visit! =)
wowser, great works ! I definitely like the first landscape in the batch.
Critiques on my work always welcome!!
Love the colors of your latest piece. I look forward to seeing it finished.
The atmosphere is lovely. The only thing I can think of is the folds of her skirt are too straight. I feel like they would follow the curve of her thighs a bit more... I'm not sure though. It's a great piece.
ah man i love your enviros, the colors have life to it and you capture great atmosphere in them, really loove the floating rocks one from post #787 , and the last update has a really nice magical mood.
i agree that the folds could be following the curve more, but other than that i wanna see it finished soon!
Your latest work looks very good. I really like the magical atmosphere and the colors are very good. Now for some criticism:
In addition to the dress as many already have pointed out, the front of the horse feels wrong somehow. The first thing I noticed was the front legs. I think it looks as if they sit too close to each other, unlike the angle of the horse. They almoste look like human legs in some weird way. I also think that another motion would look better. Now it looks a bit (just a little bit!) like this movement:
But I think something like this would be better:
And maybe some bigger muscles on the upper legs of the horse, (the 19-21 area in the picture below) It looks a bit flat at the moment.
I'm no pro by any means, and I do not know much about horse anatomy, but maybe my post is helpful in some way. Keep up the great work man!
akki - thanks! oh I think 5 ppl have mentioned the folds now lol - it's the first thing I will see to!
p-sage - thanks mate. mmm I might do some horse studies now! problem with keep going is i'm not sure where to go "to" but i'll try!
rumps - thanks for your comments man!!
esco - thanks that is all very helpful I really appreciate it!!
it's a lot of help guys, I have a WIP thread too and between here and there I learnt gazillions of things /happy
few sketchlings really today, took break from that pic a bit, will finish it this coming week and finish all the other unfinished bits n pieces!
This is a fun piece for weekly challenge on ifx design a m-apple product, i might finish it, its only a simple little thing anyway!
Haven't been here in ages. Lovely eye-candy as ever.
hey alex! The latest piece is absolutely awesome. Im not sure which version i prefer , the more desaturated one or the latest , they both work brilliantly.
Only small crit i can give you is that her sword on her back looks a bit flat and her hands could use slightly more detail. The horse improved tons , maybe it could be a bit bigger? but yeah , great piece man
BOOM! looking great man! i mentioned this on FB, but i think the foreground deets could be pushed a little more, but on the whole its looking really slick man! great colors!!
The way the light is hitting her dress doesn't match up with how it's hitting her face or head gear. I take it's mainly coming from above.
Overall levels better; the area in front of the horse's head (behind the horse, actually, but near the left side of the frame) is a bit light maybe.
Also, my eye zeros in on her left knee as the focal point. Not sure if that was your intention.
Her upper left arm area seems muddled; there's a shoulder shaped cuff (or something) with the greenish tint and then there's the red shape and then the arm seems like from there it just sort of materializes.
Anyway, much better job overall in this one. Nitpicks, mostly.
