whoa dude you are going the right way for sure! a little pointer on the spaceship painting which is totally awesome but it seems to be too muted, I would bring out some points of emphasis though such as the bot in the foreground which probably has not much role in the painting so I would probably make the ship itself and the people near it more stand out by adding some contrast to them.
Good job dude
hey clever and fun exercise , the same painting but diffirent variations , me likes alot , must try this at some point ....
So you think , that you are a noob ? Wait till you see my sketchbook.
If you want something better then listen to my music
The pages feel heavy with all the awesomeness on them, wonderful updates alex! I really like the concept in the #750 post. Please do them all day! And post! haha, look really nice.
I like the snow one too, it has a really nice atmosphere. Not to cold, but yet sad. The first one seems to be missing something, and the last one is awesome too. But the winter one has more weather all over the place so to speak, it pops out the most.
Looking forward to see more!
Will there be any pencil stuff any time soon?
kungfoo - thx! yeah i darkened the foreground, as much as i am prepared too
danny - thx for crit, i did change it a bit - maybe i should spend more time on the little figures too!
kilon - yeah its good fun
blacky - heya long time no see! oh ye I think I might paint the bottom one actually, in the autumn time because I like autumn colours now and I have an idea of other stuff to add pencils, yep soonish because I'll be gone for a while with no computer soon!
think I'm done with this, I left some of it loose and kind of concepty a bit more than polished.
I hope it won't take to long before you are back up and running your digi!
Yes, i've been here and there but now i'm back for a while, and trying to update daily.
I really like the atmosphere in this last one. And the colour scheme. I've always been a fan
of the sky blue/light blue -orange combination.
Will you be working any time soon on that autumn peace then? I'm curious what you'll add to it.
love it! the final details did wonders to it well done buddy the light and colors look good.
just to pick on ya the spots on the ground to the left look off perspective, and the ship looks more like a trading ship then a fighter so it seems like it has too many canons, I guess 2 canons for protections would do but its just nit picking
Really nice colors in the last piece. I feel like the ship fades into the background too much in some places. A clearer silhouette of the ship would help the piece read better. Good luck with the life drawing and Have fun.
psage - thanks very much, ye im lookin forward to getting into figures again!
jbrown - thanks a lot!
Kunfoo - thx as ever
DannyK -ye i need to sort out the ground a bit. well its kinda a smuggler ship so I dunno maybe a couple less guns thx!
Twig -thanks for the critique ill have a play around!
blightedart - thanks man!
Icecold - thx for comment! =)
Fetsch - yo man, hope you're well, thx for da visit!
new wip might continue :s
I see you're in the rain zone right now, i do hope you'll work more on that last one! It looks awesome so far!
Any resources or dvds etc massive black gnomworkshop etc you'd recomand for envos?
I really like how your style has developed in this area, and you have great colours and mood as well. All those still life studies you used to do have paid up big times!
You have quite lovely work! Ill definitely be back to check out more =)
Wow, great sketchbook you have!! Wish that I can say something helpful to you, but I'm just not that pro...
You've inspired me to draw madly now~!
Alex - those 10-30min studies to me, do a lot more than your fully finished work
those have great mark making, don't think that all your work should look heavily rendered, cause why should it ? those 10-30min studies feel like they are showing the real you
Hi, just went through the last several pages...tastiness through out!!
Especially lovin the last enviro on #694 and the one above in #755! I really like the feel, color scheme and low contrast approach on that one.
hmmm...just realized I chose two from oposite ends of the spectrum feel and color wise...not intentional on my part.
Blacky - thx I hope to continue with it! a good dvd for enviros is Feng Zhu thumbail one where he does b&w compositions, only one I've watched, other than david levy speed painting which isnt so good.
Danny - ha yeah hes a funny ape!
Wingal - thank you very much, appreciated
Rumps - thanks man!
Kungfoo - thanks dude, I hope to!
Xiaoming - thanks a lot, I'll be checking ur drawing out!!
Ryan - mmm yeah, I think the little studies come easier too, maybe ill try some loose stuff soon prob a lot of jobs want heavy rendered, i guess unless ur jaime jones!
Voodoo mama - thanks very much!!
TomdeVis - thanks for comment mate
JepherX - thank you very much for the visit!
This is a lil commission for an ipad/iphone game where you collect stamps. Not entirely happy yet!! CC welcome! It's not supposed to be realistic or anything, more cartoony.
looks great so far!! not sure exactly what is in the background, but the perspective seems a bit weird. is it like a gothic cathedral ceiling? anyways, i love the colors and effects youve got going on in it!
Thx Nicky its supposed to be some kind of stained glass!
Moving down to spain in a couple weeks so gonna be busy looking for work and doing commissions, gotta dooo this now :p so soon i won't have many updates again :o
Couple of old drawings I tried to add some colour to tonight!
Really nice colors on the first one. Same with the comission piece. Her face is really well rendered.
The last one has good coloring as well. haha sorry no crits from me.
Are you planning on finishing these two? I think it would be a great idea, they're looking very good so far.
Congrats on moving to Spain. It sounds awesome, Much luck to you!
Fantastic art bro, couple of things I would suggest fixing on the commission.
Her head and body directions are contradicting each other, are you building a constructed skeleton with ovals and cylinders to see where each part of the body goes? if you nail the construction at the beginning the rest should be a breeze. Michael Hamptons book figure drawing he explains there very well how to construct your figure so it will look solid, excellent book.
Another thing is the angle which would affect how much of her jaw we would see from underneath, you painted the eyes and the nose in the right angle but the chin and jaw are from straight angle.
Keep going bro as I said on DA you are blowing my mind with your works lately.
