some really nice work in here lukart im not any where near your stage so cant crit really i love the atmosphere of the enviro in post#14 SPOOKY keep at it dude
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all art and science.
Thank you very much !!! Thinking that you have lower drawing skills shouldn't preventing you from posting critiques on other people's artwork. If there's something you think could be better or simpy want to share your opinion don't be shy !!!
I checked your sketchbook by the way and you have some very nice art there. Don't under-estimate your talent. I read Shawn Barber's article about his vision of art and it's sooo true...you need a minimum of apprecitation towards your work but thinking that you suck and always wanting to push further is the best way to learn. !!!
Wicked stuff. I love your style in some of the environment stuff.
Well, not that I don't love the other stuff, haha, just that I love some in particular.
The speed painting is way fresh too, man, I'm trying to get into it myself.
I just started using a tablet, I've owned one for a year or so, but it never installed
correctly so I didn't have pressure sensitivity!! D:
Anyways, keep up the good work.
My super duper handy sketchbook! It's kinda cool.
Thanks a lot !! Speed painting is awesome. You learn so much in so few time !!!!
Some of you might find it irrelevant for me to post this stuff here but I still find that graffiti art in some way has a link with concept art. Here are some pieces from this summer + a line drawing colored quickly in photoshop.
ice_cold, angelo cordon : thanks a lot !!! I'm still learning to think like a painter. I'm really trying use as less brushstrokes possible but it's sometimes hard. We want to add details and next thing you know you added too much !!! Finind the balance is hard
Ok I went graffing today and here's the result. And now back to environment and anatomy studying !!!
I've always had trouble drawing dynamic poses and here are some silhouettes to practise. I'd love to get some comments on this since it's one of my weakest points.
Work in progress. I'm trying to get as much details possible working with a limited amount of tones. I'm gradually adding tones and gives me a better understanding of volume and depth. Here's where i'm at :
coming along nicely !!!
Nice sketchbook, will be watching.
Crazy graffiti stuff man!! No wait, it's just sick!
Love the green and gold combination in the brick wall!!
You MUST post more, at once!
Thanks a lot Andrew !!! What I'd really love to do is mix concept art and graffiti. Like doing big scenes with awesome depth and tones on a huge wall so everybody sees it when they go by !!! I'd have to write that i'm not responsible for car crashes though !!! haha
Practicing values !!
Another enviro practice
hey man, awesome stuff
great environments and speed paints
cool creatures aswell,
im into a bit of street art myself, check out my sketchbook, there's only like 2 in there.
great mural aswell
can't really crit... self taught haha
Still studying values
I feel like sharing an opinion about art i've been thinking about. I notice many people say : |i'll draw until i'm very good !". It totally shouldn't be that way. Of course everybody has the desire of increasing their skills and knowledge but you shouldn't see art as a final destination but rather a way of travelling. When you travel without a map, you get lost easily. It's the same thing with art. Practicing, observing everything around you and understanding how shades and light coexist helps you build your own precise map and library of references. So I think people should develop their skills not to be the best but rather to get closer to the vision they want to get. Anyways that's my opinion
I would say that I personally share this thought with you lukart. hehe
It's rather nice to look at this last piece of yours and see how well you can deal with your excited graffiti technique and also with such a soft trace of solitude from this kid eyes.
Keep it coming! ;D
NEED HELP WITH THE DAMN LEGS. I really have trouble with legs anatomy and I forgot all my books back in Canada !! DAMN !!! Well if I can get some crits on why this picture sucks anatomically i'd love it :
The legs don't seem equal. His left leg(our right) seems to look alright in length, but the other looks too long in the shin. It also looks like you're not showing a transition into the torso.
Andrew Loomis has his PDFs up for grabs on the Internet if you can't access your books.
thanks enydimon !!! i'll go download it right away !!!
Ok i've decided to start the human anatomy from beginning to learn it correctly. I'll start with a perfect understanding of the skeleton and than i'll start adding muscles to understand how everything relates and how it moves. Long but exciting journey !!!
Nice walls credk, and definitely keep working on your digi's you are well on your way!
thanks a lot Almost !!! I'll be updtating a lot this week
Wow. Great stuff. I'm humbled. 5 stars. That green and gold graffiti is kick ass. The stuff from imagination from the beginning of the thread is amazing, too.
Not sure what else to say. Good luck with your goal of being an animator. That's my direction, too... but you're much closer
Thank you for commenting in my thread, too.
