Wow, thanks for the encouraging words guys!
Iven...these are all photoshop. I haven't used vector programs for inking in a while but I used to really enjoy the flexibility it allows for sure. I used to illustrate in flash a lot in my old job
Here's my latest venture into the world of digital ink and paint...this week's CHOW. I'll see how I feel about it in the morning
Why have I never been here before?!? Awesome work!
I thought to myself "wait a minute, I haven't seen what garths been up to fo a while". now I have been looking at this thread for an hour or so, at all the new wonders. to recap-> awsome environs, fantastic chow entries, sweet toonies, a little improvement to the legs overall I think ~ last one, the ChoW, seems a little on the long side with her thighs, good pencils as always.
awesome stufff !
Probably don't need to hear it but on this one - http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1277651601 - I just feel the lines going from his armpit to his ulna are a little overdone and chaotic compared to the clear readable masses of the rest of the drawing. Also that part of the arm is the part in shadow so it would probably have less detail rather than more.
But . Really, awesome stuff I love it!
Rod: Yeah me too eh? Thanks for dropping by mate...always enjoy seeing your new stuff.
monsi: Thanks for picking up on that. I'll have to tidy that up.
Incinerated: Cheers mate your crits and comments are always appreciated!
Ionic: Thanks, I hope I never do!
Thanks Aresa! Talk about dynamic, your stuff is over the top. Thanks for dropping in
The game studio I work in is closing down today, so I'm going to dive into the world of freelance illustration. I've got to at least give it a try...I've had full time employment for the 8 or so years I've been out in the workforce, so taking the leap to freelance is a big step for me. Steady as she goes. Who knows what could happen, all that sort of thing.
Here's a preview of my website
I'm aware of some weirdness with my background possibly not lining up properly in explorer...I'll have to look into it. Oh and yeah atm the email link is no workey. It's very bare bones and old school Oh yeah, I'm going to start a blog too! I've heard all the kids are doing it.
Here's a couple of recent pics.
Augh, Killer sketchbook here, i love what you do with your pencils, and your work has blown out some windows this past page, I love whats going on in here. Great handle on anatomy and your facial construction is the best! It all looks so effortless, im jealous!
Best of luck with your freelance work, though you'll have no trouble im sure.
Anyway, No crits, everything is looking great, can't wait to see more. Thanks for the inspiration!
Your colors are AWESOME! I love it! The way you use em is different, keep it coming!
Don't bother looking at my sketchbook. I haven't updated that thing in years. :/
AustenFM: Thanks! Definitely not effortless though Yeah, excited and crapping myself about the prospect of going freelance but so far it hasn't been too bad.
Rod!: Yeah it does a bit doesn't it! I'd like to explore the space invaders theme a bit more actually, do something a bit more dynamic next time. Good to hear from you bud!
MiladThaha: Thanks heaps. I think I am getting braver with colour. Something I've really had to work on.
Hey man, your arts are awesome! Great expressions on your characters and perfectly smooth and clean outlines. Impressive. I always find it hard to draw such fine lines. Anyway, wish you best luck with your freelancing, I think you've got a lot of potential
Keigo: Thankyou very much Just getting back into the swing of things now!
Rod! Hey thanks dude. Yeah, trying different things I guess.
I've been away overseas for the last five weeks with ma loverly wife. Lots of work in my sketchbook that I don't have time to post right now, so here's a quickie to prove that I'm still alive.
