Hey dudes, so a lot has been going on since I got back from the workshop.
I got so much inspiration from the event it bled into other aspects of my life.
My portfolio was torn apart at the review at the workshop so I decided to start a new sketchbook focusing on developing technique.
I've also got a been VJing (Visual DJing) at clubs using the knowledge I gained from the workshop.
And my god it is fun.
And yeah I really want to be good at what I do so any advice would be helpful.
Ok so apples and statue are from life and the Study is after William Bouguereau. Spending a lot more time on things really helps.
Damn, it's awesoooome, I've allready seen your apples in the digital painting #2 thread, and it looks awesome ! I love your little girl ( please, post a step by step of the girl )! really impressive stuff! I don't think you need help at your level ! Anyway, i wanna see more, and keep at it!
Walid D: Cheers dude I got those steps for ya.
zelda_geek: Sweet, I'll be happy to deliver.
a la bapsi: He he.
And here's a detail at 50%.

Love the girl, albeit the iris might need some work. she looked kinda...creepy, in a psycho kind of way. But even in this step, the details are simply great.
And the apple looks tasty. Nyum.
the statue's legs, IINM, looks too short but maybe it's because of the angle.
I would love to see more.
Fantastic stuff! =)
The portrait of the girl is incredible Keep it up!
Those apples look crisp and delicious!
Fantastic studies. I wish I had that kind of discipline.
Trefle: Great crits thanks dude.
ReviseTheMethod: Cheers man.
voxelfog: Yeah coffee helps discipline he he.
Update on Gee. Promise to start posting more after I get a few things out of the way.
Wow, nice detail the texture's great ! ^^
as for anatomy, sorry if I'm being cocky but I think the space between the eye is too narrow and it ended up making the head looked bigger. IMO, the nose, lips, and right eye (the ...eye on the right side of the picture, ugh. forgive my English) should be moved a little bit to the right.
The rest is great though! XD
Dude nice update. Bouguereau is the man, and that's a great study. I think it may look closer to his original if you used some stronger edge contrast, like using more faded and blurred edges. It seems like every thing is very sharp. And the apples are amazing, I remember seeing you post them somewhere before and I was blown away. Keep going man things look good.
those apples DO look good! and to eat too.
Mischeviouslittleelf: Thankyou dude, yeah I i'm gonna start doing more studies.
Trefle: Great eye you have dude, thanks.
Pyroclasm00: Edge variation on Bouguereau is crazy good, I'll work hard on understanding it, cheers.
HTML rulez d00d: Yeah man they tasted great after I finished with them lol.
derriere: Cheers man I hope TC is still going strong.
Been very busy Vjing at clubs and events but im making time to get back to studying.
I don't even use Painter X at shows anymore cause usually we only have 1-2 hours, so basically I use half video mix/scratch and Alchemy for the other half.
We supported Z-Trip at a show recently
Yeah people were dancing so hard that you couldn't see through the windows because of the condensation...eww...
Block in for Willy's Dante.
This is what I believe to be his greatest work so i'm going to spend a long time on this to get all the subtleties in it.

These are so awesome, i cant imagine how they could criticize your technique!
those process shots are really helpful~!
EDIT: Gee's hair is looking kinda funky in the latest posts
like is has merged into a plastic helmet or something
very inspiring work u got here i want more
Now isn't that cute ....
BUT ITS WRONG!!!
wow man quite amazing painting there
First time I've seen your stuff. Those apples are amazing and the girl is ace too.
Your painting technique looks amazing, love to see more.
One thing with the girl in blue though, her feet, or rather her trainers look a bit odd and not very 'real'. Maybe study some shoes or something. I noticed it as I always had trouble with shoes but then realised it was due to me never referencing and so was guessing most of them.
