And a photo study and progress Gif hopeful to help BlackDelphine out.
Thanks for looking everyone!
Man, really great to see you back to pencils, these last two portraits are gerat

The Spaniard's Sketchbook... No holds barred
Have you tried showing the OTHER side of your face to the camera I know for sure that i look better if i turn my head to the left in a picture. That way, it'll seem that you're looking to the right in the photo too. Now go give it a try and post your result : p
So nice seeing you post some figures like this!! I can realise more from your style so. And gosh! Do i like how you draw your knees n legs
And thank you so much for taking your time with that landscape!! I can't believe you spent so much time on it!! Really, thank you so much Matt! You're the best!
If you're ever in Romania, remind me to invite you to my cottage haha!.
I shall take a closer look at those steps and the info you wrote after i wake up tomorrow. (Played 4h of tennis today so i'm to tired for digital work: bones..i can do in bed xD)
love the gif, dude! so good to see those studies.
though it feels like forever to imrpove (which it feels for me), the
studies are where we learn the MOST :] keep it up!!!!!!
EDITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT: i gave this to BlackDelphin and i think it would help you too. it's a tutorial on speedpainting environments by the good ol' Goro Fujita. :] http://www.area-56.de/chapter56/2006...dpainting.html hope you use it wisely, it's a goldmine for artists. ;]

ps: wow 4 hours of tennis? that would kill me, then again I suck at tennis
MattGamer- Cheers bro, yeah I feel I haven't improved in years, but I'll just keep on truckin' Yep the studies are key... here's some now! Lol, and thanks for the link, I have seen it before, but thanks for reminding me mate!
Another dull update I'm afraid, more studies.
Some quick pose/gestures to start the day and some Bridgman's.
I spent a bit more time on these than usual (not that it shows) just trying to really get the form correct... or at least like he drew them Bridgman's so good for all sorts of studies, long or short.
Thanks a lot for looking, really means a lot
Well i think they look good and they do feel worked up on my eyes! Really clean as always; i'd say perfect!
on the 3rd page the right leg is bugging me a bit..perhaps it is because that line is so straight? on the upper part of the leg
and do you have any tips on bridgmans?
i want to draw from that book but i am not sure what to do...should i randomly draw something out of it?
and yeah, i sure can say that romanians are not to good for anything (though i am half myself xD but half is half so i can brag with witch ever i want lol) but if it's for the mountains-forests, then this place is good to visit;
Btw, stop saying boring update!!
We like all what you post because it's by you!! Otherwise we wouldn't be here
Your poses are coming along great man, and that environment gif is great, your process seems so obvious and simple compared to mine. I think I need a process rethink!
I was lurking around your teams Chow thread and you guys all did some kick ass work. I want to see you working on another piece! Can't really be much use atm cause clearly you've got your studies on lock .
Keep it going!
the pencil stuff is solid, but please fix these hairy lines i guess you know the practices? two dots on the paper, try to connect them with ONE line!
keep goin, man!
Your studies are great, thanks for showing the process on that enviro, good to see how different people go about doing their art, I wouldn't know where to start, so thanks and keep up the good work
Great studies from Bridgeman - very lively looking. It looks like you're really thinking about them and that can only be good.
You're doing some sweet stuff on those environments, they look great man. And yes, some very solid looking figures.
Thanks for the WIP too, that stuff helps
ahhhh you make me wanna do some Bridgman studies... I would recommend doing more anatomy sketches from photo refs or life.
Pencil work as good as usual.
My observational skills may be great but i said nothing about my drawing skills

I would love to see how you work that out in your own style
I'm watching you! Hahaha
Hey hows school treating ya? I see that you are improving more and more even when you dont seem to see it as much yourself. Its always good to see you so diligent at work with those studies. always a pleasure dropping in here.

Waild D- Cheers man, yeah sounds like a good idea, I'll give it a go!
Been so friggn' busy lately, but I have got some art done.
I recently got the 'Zhanglu / Manley Caucasian Female Portraits From imagination' download, what an awesome demonstration!!!!
So as Jason suggests, I started with some Hogarth studies, really trying to get to the head cannon right.
Right I'm not happy showing these, but Its only fair to show the progress (all from imagination).
First portrait attempt, about30 minutes.
2nd try, again about half an hour.
3rd, about 45 min.
And 4th, about 45-50 minutes.
I'm going to keep doing these, so will hopefully be seeing some improvement soon!
Thanks so much for looking, Love you all!
heeey buddy, really hot improvement!! like the portraits, i think they could use a little more contrast though. keep up!
Nice Matt! Great job on the syudies and imaginative portraits. I think you should do some photo studies as well as imagination. That will help you to bring more realism to your heads. YOur doing so greatt
