I need help getting basic-training-learning media in order to learn the basics of photoshop as an illustration tool.
I've been using photoshop as an amateur for many years, and since I'm starting an illustration career now, I'd like to learn some basis and get rid of some bad habits I assume I have (since I'm self-thaught) to get enough prepared to learn more cutting-edge techniques shown everywhere, specially here in CA.
I know many of you will think "hey use the search engine, and do a little by yourself" but you have to know that I started looking around for PS tutorials and stuff, both in CA and on the web, and realized how FAR I was from even being an amateur! I'm actually pretty ignorant at phothosop (lol) so when I come to the PS section in CA I get way too lost, if you get what I mean, by so many unfamiliar terms, too-specialized tutorials (at least for me) and filled with stuff I am supposed to know before learning certain technique which I don't, so I'm deciding to read a few books, or see a few tutorials about "basic" PS use...
I'm not completely clueless, I do know how to use it but only in a intuitive-way. Any official (or unofficial but good) PS education source would help me a lot, CD's, books, ebooks, videos... anything to get started with, both free or not (I am actually willing to pay for it)... anything it takes in order to then come to CA again and learn all the cool tutorials and tricks there are available the proper way!
thanks and sorry about my bad english! I'm improving every day!
thanks a lot!
