heh and I'd just decided not to post too much crap ^^
these, and the previous are done line on fotos. trying to go for a nice illustration style for a little book I want to make.
I also did some on paper. but it just didnt turn out right. bah. this is too much foto. and the sketches just werent exact enough. not a happy camper@!
With "on" photos do you mean you traced them or did you copy? Because they look pretty nice. Especially the first one with the dog. But maybe think more about line quality. Try and make the lines in shadow thicker than the lines in the light thinner so that it's more consistent.
These are nice ashess! I agree with tobbA though, the lines are clean and crisp but they could benefit from some more interesting line quality, especially in this sort of style. Keep on posting ashess, I hope all is going well for you and your son .
they're traced in a program that gives nice lines but little controll, then exported to ps and tweaked.
with the first few tries on paper I got so frustrated I was beginning to think that was the only way I'd get what I wanted.
but after a few tries I got these 2 marker pieces I'm pretty happy with. well, compared to the other total vailures Oo
oh. this is a while back. but I like the sheep...
aah! what a month! first, I had a test which required a bit of work. I did ok on it, but it had me writing on paper.. which I dont really do ever aymore. so much so that those 8 pieces of paper totally busted my wrist. it hurt bad a few days, and I got this nasty bumb on the inside.
I'd just decided I'd just have to learn to draw with my right hand when the builders finally got time to fix the baby room. well, we had the wall set but had to do ther rest ourselves. so now that's finally almost done :p but I feel I totally let the drawing slack. really want to get back on it. ^^ maybe that'll be easier since Rem is getting big enough to hold his own pencil while I draw. which means I might spend less time fighting him over mine. ^^ anyway, here's something fun that happened yesterday;
while we were fixing the shelves in the closet, Rem found himself a thumb screwdriver and gave us a hand..
ok reselution: do 5 min of posemaniacs every evening. I can spare 5 min an evening, right?
I'm only gonna do a compilation f what I did once a week.. since posting here takes more like 15 min with the whole upload menu this is 1st 3 days worth.
thanks; I'm not really pleased. I cant get my line to flow, and as soon as I focus my attention on anything but the general shape the proportions fear out of whack. I feel I was doing much better back in the days. but that's not important now; the important thing is to get back into drawing dayly.
I should probably have mentions aforegoing post was one minute drawings.
here is a character outfit design sketch:
well, sometimes I have to wonder why I keep at it when I'm gonna let it all go to waste by not practising for weeks.
oh well, maybe this time things will be different :p
practised some feet with bridgeman and my feet/husband's feet as ref
(last page all bridgeman, second all live. first is a mix)
oh, staying with mother in law, who has internetz now! but no scanner :/ so this is camera fotos.
Much aS i admire that way of thinking, this is just a warmup exercise. Its not doing me much in the way of learning or practising. But i think i thought of something better the other day. Eh but i cant upload from my phone? Suxsorz! Will upload when i get ky pc back :/
I finally located the bulk of my favorite drawing utensils at the bottom om a trunk in our basement. I guess I cant blame my husband.. he was just trying to tidie up. and he did say he put 'some painting stuff' down there. I guess he just doesnt have a clue ^^. but it makes a world of difference to me what Im drawing with. it's just so much more fun with a soft, friendly pencil. I guess it takes that much to realise why I like drawing from reality in the first place..
you think you know all about the subject you're putting to paper, but then you notice there's something not quite right.. and you start measuring and find things were not quite a you thought they were. that nose? needs to be placed quite a bit lower. that ear is much broader, not that high from this angle. etc. etc.
reality, you dog you!
good stuff, are you jst drawing for fun or are you trying to reach a specific level?
that's a good question. I guess I'm just trying to keep my skills somewhat sharp until I get some more time again for some real projects. I got like 20 projects I'd like to get off th ground sometime. but with a 2nd kid coming, working 3 days and studying a bit on the side.. it's just not going to happen right now. still, I can do the diary sketches for Rem - and soon for his sister going.. that's a pretty cool project. I've got just about 2 books for Rem full now. they're not all jewels, but there's somenice stuff in there.
thanks tobba. I'm a little angry with myself b/c I shouldhave finished all the feathers it had around it's head in the background. but I just couldnt make myself stick with it..
