Hey Guys. New here, only my second time posting any work, but I watched some scott robertson video the other night and this happened. Only spent a few hours on it but, wanted to see what others think.
Personally I think it needs some background work... but dont know if I wanna spend any more time on it..
The perspective feels off for the vehicle. I like the concept, but think it needs to be corrected. If you try to define the midline, I think you will see what I am talking about.
Yeah... i think my perspective is warped quite a bit.... i see the midline ok... but what im seeing is that the midline bends as it travels along the object...
im also not feelin the windshield or the pilot...
I cant see how he could get in or out of it... or is he just a head?
I dont know... it might be cooler if it had one of those head in a jar from futurama... but yeah i agree it doesnt make a whole lot of sense... Im almost thinking now that i should thin out that middle "rudder" so that it breaks up those shapes in back... just so it can show a little of the ground through it... i think that would make my perspective read a little better... whenever i look at it, it takes my eye too long to recognize the shapes are seperate.. also it doesnt have any movement... i could probably go over the shadow and give it some movement...
honestly i sketched for like 10 minutes on paper and tossed it in photoshop for a few hours... didnt really want to think about it too much.. it was pretty damn fun though.. might have to do some more..
anyone else got a suggestions?
The thumbnail didn't really grab me. I couldn't tell what it was. but enlarged I think it's pretty hot! Maybe the machine blends into the shadow too much or something. It kinda kills the silhouette. Possible solutions are underlighting reflected up from the ground to help define the edge of the vehicle or moving the shadow.
I agree there is a bit of a midline issue happening here. but I think you simply have 1 consistent perspective on the engine area and a slightly different one on the driver&cockpit area.
Did a little tweaky paintover that may or may not help ya out! (escape key stops the animated GIF in case ya din't know)

on top of what was previously said. i thought the pilot was a little too big for the cockpit, and that maybe the dash pivots up for him to get in there. i just painted some minor tweaks. looks great btw.
