Hello all. Basically this is a mindless sketchbook that probably won't be updated regularly, but please look and critique

And some digitals~
Now back to sketching...
Some nice work here. Love the digital portrait. Is that you?
All I can say is keep filling this SB up. Let's see more.
Great stuff you have here Kim.
I'm impressed with how clean your lines are. Can't see anything that looks wrong to me, so there.
Well your feet look alright to me!
And abstract larches in the neutral light
Wow! Keep posting. Your line quality is awesome. I really like that sketch of the girl laying on the floor.
My sketchbook. Input and advice is, well, appreciated. :] http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=118556
Thanks for the replies!
AztcFireFlower: haha, no that's not me. It's actually reffed from a photo of Aoi Miyazaki, who is a Japanese model.
I will try to keep filling this sketchbook up-hopefully weekly updates from now on!
JeanShade: Thanks! No, but I need to keep practicing feet. Toes are evil to draw
DaStreets: Thank you!
amoolie: heehee, that's my pinup girl
PieMonster: more is on the way!
well, my meager offering for now; will have more tomorrow.
I really shouldn't be here right now because I have a midterm tomorrow, but oh well.

nice stuff you have going on here. I'm not good at art yet so I cant give any helpful crits. Just try to understand the form/contour of everything you draw. Wire frame master studies and learn perspective. A most overlooked book is rapid viz by hanks and belliston buy it.
nicehighs: hmm, sounds interesting. Thanks for the tip!
more crap from the past week:
Those Loomis studies look really accurate.. Keep it up!
And thanks for stopping by!
I know it's all been done before, I want to do it again. I want to do it again.
This is a really nice sketchbook. I love the clothing folds. Are those studies mostly from life?
Euphemism: Thanks! Yeah, I need to work on structure more, haha.
Kasper_P: Thank you!
Festival Bobcats: Thanks! Yes, studies are mainly from life. My teacher told me I needed to do more stuff from observation, so I've been trying to sketch from life whenever possible.
Well, sketches from this week pretty much suck...
For a website
Great stuff, loving the digitals from the last post.

My scanner was being a bitch today, ugh.
By the way, does anyone ever spray their sketchbook with fixative, etc?
Because I try to keep mine from smearing, but it always does, no matter what I do.
And, another question: how do you attach a thumbnail??? I've been wanting to change my thumbnail pic for ages...

The last (or first?) image attachment in the first post of the thread will be the thumbnail.
I spray my sketchbooks sometimes too, but they still get smeared. If you haven't already tried a leather bound sketchbook that will help, but you'll still get graphite transfering to the page it faces unless you only use one side of a page.
Nice work, draw hard! (That's a reference to Pump Up the Volume )
Eek, so no updates in two weeks
I've been working on a project, but other than that, I don't have too much to show--I need to whip my lazy and unmotivated ass back into shape...
DanielC: Thanks for stopping by!!
revender: Thanks, I'm going to start drawing on only one page from now on. It's just too annoying having to deal with all the smudges and transferred graphite.
PieMonster: Thanks, same to you!
These are all done in charcoal, mainly willow and some charcoal pencil.
I'll put my worst up first just to get it out of the way. I really don't like this one...

Why being so self-disruptive, this is good stuff in here, you show a very confident linework, especially your portraits are damn good.
And don't compare yourself to other artists, they all have different backgrounds and motivations; everyone has his time, some earlier, some later, so it's about the time you decide to take art seriously, it says nothing about the level of talent (which you obviously have). So keep your head up !
No skill still isn't a new side.

Hey. Thanks for droppin' in my SB.
Your still life sketches are great! Keep it up.
Looks like you're doing the right things, just do more.
Look forward to more updates.
your work is of high quality, dont let anybody whos painting better than you make you afraid instead try to learn from them and you will do fine
Sketchbook (daily Oils):
Happy holidays everyone! A small update~
lord_regenschirm: Thanks for the encouragement. Yeah, I just need to focus on myself more, become a better artist... and not get distracted
HunterKiller_: Thanks! Yeah, I'm really looking to push myself now that I'm that I'm on break and have more time.
Katzenminze: Thanks, I will try!
Excellent, an update at last!
Sorry for the poor quality of some of these...
And something that will get finished soon, probably.
Took a short break, but I'm back
Loomis Loomis Loomis
And some other stuff
Close up of the above
I honestly didn't know what I was doing when I painted this piece but it was
certainly fun to do
I'm really looking to push myself and improve from now on, but that's for next time's post...eh hehe
As a side note, I've FINALLY opened up my moleskine and gotten the courage to draw on its pristine beautiful pages so there will actually be moleskine pages from now on!
i can see the improvements in your digital paints. keep it up!
your line work is fantastic, you can really see your confidenc growing
keep it up!
