If you are drawing from photo reference, then it will be better to take the photo yourself so you can control the lighting. If drawing from life, also control the lighting.
This seems to be front lit. Such a scheme eliminates most of the shadows which makes the face look flat. If the light is off to the side, there will be some shadows that will be fun to draw and they will show off so much more anatomical detail. The face will seem three dimensional and realistic.
