This is a new painting I've been doing lately. The initial idea was to bring some kind of peace that's so hard to find in todays life in the big cities. But at the same time, also keeping the feeling of loneliness that the big cities have (which is kinda funny, since we're always surrounded with lots of people).
Thinking on that, I did this:
However, I'm still not sure about this painting. To be honest, I thought this was getting a bit boring. Some outside opinion would be great, not only about the painting itself, but also about my concept applied in this particular painting. Not sure if this is peaceful, or just plain boring .
Did this with my trusty tablet and photoshop.
hey dude. it's okay so far, but it seems a little disconnected from your intended theme. if you want to amplify something, adding a contrasting element helps bring it out even more. if you want something light to stand out, add an area of dark next to it to amplify the contrast. similarly here, if you want to amplify the feeling of peace, you need to add an element or symbol of unrest into the picture. maybe somewhere in the background, instead of fog, you could add a cityscape, which will bring out more of a contrast between the busy city and his peaceful rest. hope this helps; g'luck.
