...isn't changing can bite me.
I've been around a long time, and I just experienced something for the first time in my life in this region (southwest Pennsylvania). We got the tail end of Ike over the last two days, and had a solid day of 65 to 85 mph winds--with no rain! That just ain't normal 'round here.
And the worst part was that I had to be out in it because one of the horses at our local barn suddenly had heart failure right in the middle of it, so--with no lights, at 2:00 am, with trees crashing down and cars being pushed off the road by the winds, we had to put the poor guy down. It was one of those mixed blessings--he was over 30 years old, which is about 80-90 years old for a human being, and blind as a bat. I'm fairly sure that part of his problem started with the sheer panic at what was going on around him and it just scared him to death, so to speak...
It also blew out our power and net access for a fair amount of time, but everything seems back to normal now...

wait...you and the horse were the same age? ( just kidding)
Anybody who thinks that there's nothing goofy going on with our
weather/environment right now needs to actually pay attention to
whats happening around.
Northpole ice covers shrinking like crazy, bees dying out,
stronger storms every year...
its like we are all in one disaster movie, only its real...

Chemtrails, Polar Shifts, The Globe is expanding, The Sun is expanding, Nibiru's unusual elliptical orbit and proximity to the sun, Global warming, etc.
Take your pick.
Glad to hear you are ok. Poor horse.
I think most people have finally got the idea now that global warming is upon us, what is still debated however, is whether we are contributing to it.
Personally, I'm hoping that we aren't really making that much of a difference and this planetary cycle will carry on as usual.
Otherwise, it could very well be the end of humanity as we know it.
DUN DUN DUN!
Environmental fact #104: If all ice on both polar caps melt, the only land exposed above water will be the peak of Mt. Everest.
The world isn't a swiss watch. Climate has been changing since the dawn of time. The order around us is fluid. Meteors do sometimes fall from the sky and obliterate a landscape. The oasis dries up. The farm turns to desert. The basin floods. C'est la vie.
At least Icarus tried!

we have been having some amazing and unpredictable weather as of late where im at. a few days ago, we had a perfect 28ºC (82ºF) day, clear skies and sunny, but with a gentle cool breeze to offset. not even a day later, we were having winds of up to 100km (60mph) and hailstones flying sideways, with torrential downpour cutting in and out like the clouds had a bad case of diarrhea! we get like 4 seasons in the one day, its insane!
I'm really not sure why this even matters. The fact is that the weather patterns are changing and not for the better. Arguing about whether we are contributing to anything is like pointing fingers and asking who forgot to turn off the gas when the house is burning down around our ears.
I’m a child of the 60s & 70s. We were going for a mini ice age then.
Scientists – screwing your childhood fears.
And we're well overdue for a flip on the magnetic poles.
Had some harsh winds in the Pittsburgh area, as well- sirens were blaring throughout the entire evening. No rain, either.
San Francisco hot as fuck summers 4 years runnin' ...
im no scientist , but if this was vegas.......hmmmmm

SPEAKING of Ike... I was here for the whole darn thing!
95 MPH winds where I was, the eye JUST missed us, just to the west of Downtown Houston (where the JP Morgan Chase building got all smashed, the one that was all over CNN looking like a bomb went off), got some impressive flooding and damage tho. And it was so amazing how it maintained such power and a tight spiral so far inland... global warming and worsening violent storms? Pfft!
Still in the part of Houston with no power (I am on backup power at work now). We have water, but I need to be able to boil it, and my range is electric. OH the irony.
And those poor, poor folks on the coast... eesh.

Jessi - glad to hear that you guys are (relatively) okay. That has got to be just like walking through a twilight zone episode where you are.
All the best, and keep us informed!
