Throughout the past few years I have constantly found myself with crushes on females with artistic characteristics. I'm not just talking about girls who sort of dabble in art here and there; I'm talking about THE art girl. You know the type. She is the girl you see with dyed hair, nose piercings, a light frame, hands are usually tinted an array of unnatural colors, hair is kept short, shoes are either converse or airwalk, occasionally wearing a box cap, or knit hat. She is confident, and lively; and seems to have some sort of intellect about the world that others don't seem to have. She is not afraid of being herself, and doesn't care what others think. She also listens to interesting music and is usually also a gamer. Conversations with her are random and seem to veer off in different directions at any time.
Art girls to me are an entirely different species of female and I find them deadly attractive. Being an artist myself I begin to wonder however if its some sort of narcissistic elitism toward artists; however I met one of these girls in one of my classes and I'm thinking of asking her out.
Does anyone else here share an attraction to other artistic types of the opposite gender (or same gender if thats how you roll)? Or do most prefer different personality types outside of creative people? I can see how two people in a relationship both being of that particular personality can have problems

I hear yeah on the subject of art girls. I myself happen to be dating a photographer and she fits all that you just described also suffers from a case of the shiny object syndrome. But what if you saw this walking the streets of San Fran........
lol at the El Coro pic
Since I'm straight, what would the features of the "art guy" (and lol not the screencap posted)
Arshes Nei- Well I don't know. I would say we need a female with a crush on "art guys" to give us a valid description of one.
haha it makes me happy that m@ stopped by this thread
m@ - haha thats ok man, thats ok.
my boyfriend of almost 11 months is an artist.
It's awesome, since we have lots of things in common, but i'm afraid of drawing him gifts like my poor ass usually does.. he might tear it apart with critiques, which is not something i'd like to hear when making a gift for someone. *__*
My god people are attracted to others who share their same interests? This is madness...
"Beliefs are rules for action"
"Knowledge is proven in action."
"It's use is it's meaning."
My uni is filled to the roof with girls that look just like that, and with tattoos, you forgot those.
Only thing is, most just play a part, when i meet them takes minutes to realize they are just hipsters trying to look artsy and interesting without being neither and i get disappointed . Is all about stupid trends, most people who study with me spends more time dressing up to look like artists than actually bothering about making art or learning anything.

The best thing about art...art chicks. The worst thing about art...art chicks.
I totally know where you're coming from. They seem like the holy grail. Who can you count on to understand you when you make a Bladerunner reference? Art chicks. Who are wicked hot and up for a lot? Art chicks. Who can drink you under the table? Art chicks. They are a lot of fun and you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not going for one or several. But they are a different breed, which makes it as nerve racking as it is fun. Enjoy man. Go for that girl in your class, go for that girl on the train. Enjoy. There is a lot of understanding that comes with that kinda girl. Equally there is a lot of torment. Enjoy. What's the worst that could happen?
I agree with Renegade. There were girls that looked like the type you're into Toxdel, but by and large the REAL "Art girls" looked nothing like that. I look nothing like that... So I don't know that I'd categorize all gals that do art as looking like that.
As far as "Art Guys"? Mine used to dress more like a skaterkid...oversized plaid shirts and baggy pants with lovely long hair (Mmm, I'm a sucker for well-kept long hair). Now I've managed to get him into T-shirts the right size and pants that show off his ass (not hipster...still oversized in the leg). Remember boys...your ass is likely to be good looking no matter your size, so make good use of pants that fit right!
I was just attracted to personalities and when I found my man I had no clue he was an artist/musician/skaterboy. I just thought "Holycrap that's my DreamGuy in looks and he's shy and reading! Yesssss!" Then I wrested him down and tied him up until he gave in to me.
