Hello, my name is Jon Southworth and I am an art student at The Guildhall at SMU. I am also a former college football player. I will be creating a 3D model of myself in my college football uniform. The helmet, jersey, pants, and shoes will all be separate pieces from the body. I will be creating low poly, medium poly and high poly versions of the model. I am initially posting my concepts that I will be modeling from and will continue to post screenshots of my model as I progress. I welcome all critiques and suggestions.
sounds like a good project Jon, a good self portrait too. when you get old and senile, and your stomach portrudes farther than your chest, this will be a good reminder of the "good ol days"

Here is my low poly model done in 3ds Max. It is all one peice and is just under 3,000 triangles.
Here are my medium poly models done in 3ds Max. The body is its own seperate peice, while the helmet, jersey, pants and shoes are all seperate peices as well. The body model is just over 6,500 triangles while the body with all equipment comes out to just over 11,700 triangles.

Here are screenshots from the finished model, complete with textures. Enjoy!
I would slightly up the key and fill lights and drop down the bounce a bit.
You should post a wireframe.
Is max still stressing triangles over polys?
