So class is kind of cancelled now on fridays so i'm going to upload and start this sketchblog with some sketches and speedpaints.

The one thing on the digi paints I notice is you are using the smudge tool it seems

Sweet stuff! I really like how the Zulu warrior piece is coming along. The colors used are really good to help express the tension in the piece. I think they could be pushed a bit more, though. It seems kind of "soft" in a way right now.

here is another take on the zulu i was working on its pretty close to finish now...well closer than it was. I readjusted the colors since there is some disconnect between my monitors and i worked over the figure some more and fixed my eyes.
i almost forgot to post this one. i've been working on this in my free time.
It's basically a girl a mech and a throw up tag on the floor. This is a WIP i'll put into my cache to finish later....much later probably.
Just noticed, on your mech girl - her head seems a bit large and her neck seems too long and like it's bent at a really odd angle. More like a noodle than a neck.
heres some updates some of these pieces are changing. others are just not working (mainly the mech girl is getting alot of changes and the colors off on the gear girl) i need to refine everything PLEASE CRIT.
You have a good start here, only thing I can prescribe are studies! Loads and loads and loads of studies. Not to say that your stuff is bad or nothing, but studies are a good way of understanding what you need to improve on, what things are interesting to you and what might be pealed away
Looking good Ken I'd second elf here on the prescription of studies. Do lots and lots and lots of them - quick sketches at first, gesture drawing from reference, etc. Don't hurry into details yet. Color wise, getting reference may help you improve very quickly. Find an image you like, look at its colors, and try to describe to yourself how the artist used colors, then try to use the same color theory on your own paintings - pretty soon you'll be cranking out awesome palettes on your own Keep up the good work!

Mumumash: i just use alot of reference, having an image of a woman up while you sketch really helps, and with woman less is more on the definition of the body.
