If the "Glory Hole" was blown out by an explosion, I think the debris would be more scattered.
First of all, hihihi explosion+gloryhole. To be on the serious side, no.
I figured it to be a dug out part of the wall. Like first digged until reaching the other side, and then more and more expanding.
